Yes, I changed it into a snowy scenario, because it looks cooler :P Of course the maps name will not be "Sky Over Cairo" now.

Hiho. When I load the minimap in the bfeditor, I just see the bigger objects like the big bunker, the tower or streets. Is there a possibility to make more objects viewable?

Move the objects higher, generate the minimap and lower the objects again

Wow, it worked, thanks James :P Here it is:

Host your images online with an easy to use image uploader, albums, photo hosting, sharing, dynamic image resizing on web and mobile.

The map itself is finished now.

          Things-to-do-list:
          -Loadingscreen (mapdescription, background, etc.)
          -Bots
-finding out, why the damn FPS is about 15.0fps/66.7ms all the time.

When I'm walking on the map on a local server the fps is like this, but when I'm in a parachute, climbing a ladder, or falling down from a high position, everything is fine and about 60fps or sth.

to do the minimap the easy way without having to raise all the objects, on the bottom bar, select renderer from drop down menu, then miniculdistance, then type in the third box 10000 then enter,

adjust it accordingly by changing the value+100 or -100 such as 9900 or 10100 til your happy with the results by checking it in the editor folder then close.

To do the map screem, once youve done your minimap, go into the editor folder, then copy minimap, then place it into the hud folder, then delete the ingamemap, and rename the minmap file to inGamemap. Load the map up, then in game, press the map key m by default,

then take a screenshot. close bf2142. go into the the directioary where you have your screenshots (my documents/battlefield 2142).

Then find the jpg of the screenshot, then crop the map area, and save as .png size 512x512, do the same for the preview map as for the menu map by taking the required screenshot in game.

if you (or anyone) would want to have snowy effects on soldiers and vehicles, then i recommend using this tutorial I wrote: http://bfeditor.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=9932
It works 100% though the APC and i believe also the tank dont have any profit of this. If you want to have an apc with snow effects, then DO NOT use the apc which is used in Port Bavaria. This one has very high pod distances APC with snow on it is for the time being impossible

Hehe, I already got the snowy effects on soldiers etc I won't set any vehicles there, because the map is much too small.
Btw there are APCs with snow texture in the titan map of Bridge of Remagen, EU and PAC aswell afaik.

Chaos Marine, thanks for the mini-tut What is the map in the second screenshot? Is it yours?

indeed it was, it was called saharra desert, the map was already to be navmeshed, til I noticed a problem with the surround terrain, and unfortunately screwed the map up, without making a back up copy, so I have to start again from scatch. Haven't been doing much mapping for the past 3 weeks as i've been playing guild wars.

I plan on spending thursday on ice station omega, as thats nearly ready to be beta tested.

Sky Over Cairo is now finished and its new name is "IJsselmeer". It's set on the frozen sea of the north coast of the Neatherlands. I wanted to finish the botsupport before the release, but I don't know if a BF2 bot tutorial will work for BF2142, too.
I wanted to ask here before I mess up the map :P Of course I wouldn't regret it if someone made the botsupport for me because I never did it

try the battlefield single player forum --> http://battlefieldsingleplayer.plane...rums/index.php

they might be able to help if you only need to run the navmesh process.

                                Hello
I'm still working on this map. The only problem is the damn botsupport. I have the Vehicle and Infantry.obj files and gmax, but when I remove all isolated isles or however-you-ever-call-this, the bots still don't work.
                                Any suggestions?
