Don't mind me for bumping this thread, just wanna say my shuttering problem is solved.

I actually bought another 2 1GB sticks of RAM and with 3.3GB of RAM (32-bit limitation) the shuttering is no more :P

also the pentium d is not a true dual core processor so that maybe part of the problem
