Why does everyone play 1.6 more then CZ?, and is CSS worth buying?

1.6 is available for free to owners of HL retail (so a large part of the PC gaming community) whereas CZ was extra cost - that's why it's more popular. Same for CS:S being free with HL2 retail. Personally I prefer the simplicity and speed of 1.6, but Source may appeal more to a new player.Comment

Spoon pretty much nailed this one. I like CS:CZ the best, but it has the smallest community because of the additional cost. CZ's singleplayer component got horrid reviews, which resulted in rather poor sales and thus a small base for it's slightly superior (imho) multiplayer experience.
CSS is a whole lot prettier, but lacks the clean, crisp, classic feel many of us got addicted to over the past decade. For a new player with a good rig, it's probably a more desirable game to get into, however.
Spoon, your avatar rocks... I played that old skiing game (SkiFree or something like that?) back on my 386 with Windows 3.1... never expected to see the monster at the end again.Comment

So i finally picked up CS:S and its alot easier to kill but thats the best part the awp is no longer a problem its a balanced CS in my point of view to were the awp just ran the maps in 1.6 and CZ.Comment
