    a few problems in 1.6

Hey guys, I'm new here. Anyways, I have a few small problems, some more annoying than others:

    1) CS 1.6 doesn't seem to remember my brightness setting (which is crucial to me), and whenever I put it back to my preferred setting, it tries to restart CS in software mode, and I like D3D mode for holding the gun in the right hand

    2) It doesn't seem to remember my 'hud_centerid 1' command in the console, so before every match I have to re input this into the console (annoying because it helps kill enemies through smokes/flashes/etc)

    3) Lastly my right click on the AWP seems to be a bit sluggish. Compared to Source (eww) it's very slow so Quick-Scoping is almost impossible for me. Any ideas?

-Sorry it's been one big whining session, but 1.6 needs to be back to normal

    thanks all

EDIT: one last thing! I just remembered: for the best brightness (i.e. being able to see in tunnels on dust2 properly and in dark spots on maps) what should my gamma be? full/medium/low?

Re: a few problems in 1.6

Ugh, if the game is restarting it's because brightness is too high. I had that once on a previous computer and just had to find a compromise. If it's not bright enough, try changing gamma till you find a setting that fits you and doesn't restart the game.
I think the brightness and gamma values are set in the config.cfg file. I have:
    gamma "3"
    brightness "1"
Try keeping a track of those while you adjust them.

As for nº2, you can put that in the config.cfg file. Either search for a line like this:
    hud_centerid "0"
    and change it to
    hud_centerid "1"
Or if it doesn't exist just add it.

    Nº3, I dunno, haven't grabbed an awp in 1.6 for a long time :P
Check your ping. If your ping is low, and you're not choking or having loss, it's just that way. Try the awp in single player for a bit to see how it should be.
