Hey, just registered with the forums, I'm a college freshman with time to kill and I want something to do, CS looks pretty awesome.

Just need some recommendations and help,

CS:S is the way to go right? Just hop online and play? Or am I missing something?

Good starter addons and mods?

I would have to get a whole other game for 1 person right, CS:Z?

On that site, is the $10 ($29) more worth paying for the original, source AND zero or just go for the $19 for Source?

Depends.
I personally prefer CS1.6.

But since you're new to the game, source does offer some shiny graphics and stuff.
The playability is almost the same.
No one plays CZ.

Source requires a good pc to play, otherwise it'll suck.

If you're planning on playing from the university campus, check out if the staff have the necessary ports open in order to play.

I would start out with Source, since its probably much more newb friendly than 1.6
