What are peoples views on cash in games like CSS?

As tried by tournament, **********, ultimate arena etc etc.....

Is this a marketing mans wet dream, or a service gamers value and want?

Seriously?
I think it's a dead end. You'll get a few guys playing, but then suddenly somebody calls someone else a cheater, and there's no way to prove or disprove it and then they don't want to play no more.

And it's pretty hard to profit off of gaming, just see what happened to the CPL.

This is just my semi-informed opinion.

Im just curious to gauge peoples opinions on the matter.

My 2 colleagues and I have been developing a new online gaming community for the past two years, that caters for individual gamers and clans.

We were considering implementing some kind of 'play for cash' system and just wanted to understand peoples thoughts on the matter.
