BF2 gamespy accounts

So we know that Gamespy is shutting down their master servers for games likes BF2 but other 'private' masters are going online.

What happens with BF2 after gamespy is gone? Will their be ranks anymore? Will everyone just play as rank "private"? what about unlocks - will they be available in game?

This is a very interesting question. I just went to bf2stats and saved the page in case something bad happens xD

On that note, I just noticed BF2s.com has shut down their stats service (end of 2013). R.I.P.
