Ive been bored with regular mode in BF3 so thought I would play some hardcore mode and have been trying different weapons to see what fits better in that mode and I stumbled across a setup that reminded me when I played CoD:W@W with the Arisaka rifle.
In W@W the Japanese side had the Arisaka bolt action rifle and I loved playing it with iron sites. It was very challenging and fun to get someone in one shot. If you missed you were toast.
So you play BF3 in hardcore and set this up:
JNG-90
Kobra sight (yes Kobra)
Straight Pull Bolt
Silencer (no, really)
It's great fun! You could probably do it with the other bolt weapons as well, but it just has the right feel and sounds with the JNG.
You dont have to use the silencer if you just dont like it, but I didnt see any disadvantage to having it on other than it was really loud then.
