    Poor BF3

After playing the game almost 200 hours. I can say this game is pretty much hope less. So, many damn problems with this game and DICE pretty much showed their hand with how they acted with most things. It seems like there is bug, after bug, after bug. I think they icing on the cake is the net code. The game is just getting worse, which is normal for most games. I have been messing with the hit box when playing on servers with high ping and it should not make you better. There is some good with the game, but I would say it is even with the bad. Still don't know why they have the bad luck and if you jump 2 feet you die. Also, the I ducked 2 seconds ago and still got shot.

I just think DICE tried to do too much. I don't care about the, this is not a true BF2 bleh bleh bleh. The basic part of the game is just trash when playing on a higher level. I don't know if this game is trying to make it so new people can just jump in and pwn face, or what. But, the game is not as strong as before. I just remember 2142 hitting this point and the game pretty much started to die after the new X-pac, which was terrible. I am gonna keep playing here and there, but there are really alot of other games to play, not fps games, but tons of other games. I think EA is just going to milk this while a new team works on BF4 so it can come out with COD 4 times 5.

Last note, wtf is up with all the hacking. Like I see a hacker like once a day almost. Never on my server, but we get them time to time. If I just goto a server that is normal, non metro or anything. I tend to see one hacker in like 10 games or so. I would go weeks without seeing anything like that in 2142.

Then wth did you play it for 200 hours?

Not that it hasnt a bunch of flaws, but it cant be a complete failure if people are putting that amount of time into it.

      200 is hardly the 1500++ i had in bf2.

The maps make the gameplay so repetative imo.

Lets all storm the same alley! but i wana storm something else! fine lets call the alley the "Dumbledore"...attack!

Well its also only been out since october, while 200 is possible, still unlikely. And to play 1500 hours in that time probably would involve at least a party of 5 people playing at different times or someone who is/about to be dead from sleep depravation and some mental condition.

I wish I could play it for 200 hours tbh. I suck at it, but don't have time to play, that and Im suffering from a technical issue that Dice does indeed need to fix (Disconnected from EA online, though could be a connection error).

Server numbers and player population say it all......................

12,000 servers and 50k players right now, it was under 30k just an hour ago, granted it's still early but..............one server for every 3-4 players, one server for every 2 players during off peak times.

The numbers are dropping by shocking amounts each day, I've never seen a BF title fall from grace so fast, this is nutz, BFBC2 was not even close to speed this one is loosing players.

This new R16 server patch is garbage, our server is dumping players all the time now, cant go an hour without dumping players and it isn't crashing, just dumping players on a regular basis. I informed the DICE devs in the R16 thread but they assured everyone it's not their fault and they did nothing in this R16 that would cause such a thing, they are far above admitting a mistake..............

B2K has already fractured the community, you can see it in the servers, they better pull out the next DLC fast because they have already lost more players than what they gained through the B2K pack and it's only been 2 weeks.

Are you HIGH?! I'd love to see your source for those server numbers. As of right now, bf3stats.com has the online PC player population at 73,838. I assume you only referenced that platform. Frankly I'd say that's pretty high for a group of hardcore PC gamers that has been in decline lately with multi-platform releases being the norm. You cant base the popularity of a gme on PC numbers alone. As of now the PS3 has 77, 772 players and the 360 has 51,174 players. This game is a HIT and is maintaining strong numbers. Other than the occasional server crash I have had ZERO issues with the game. Its probably attributed to the fact that I have a strong CPU/GPU and take extreme care of my PC. I format and reinstall every 3-4 months and run tons of garbage cleanup and malware scans every week and keep all my stuff up to date. I'm not trying to suggest you don't, just saying that's what I'm doing. You just gotta be patient, DICE has always shown excellent support for their games. BF2 and 2142 were patched with new FREE content years after release and neither of those games were perfect. Login server outages months after release day, server browser fails, aim hacks/bots galore balance issues. These are a thing of the past with the new server infrastructure and battlelog. They can update stuff on the fly without making us all download a new patch every week. No game has ever launched perfectly, and no company can kill every bug. Especially when it comes to the PC because no company has a test platform that can replicate every combination or hardware and how users maintain their software. I would agree with you that the B2K pack has fractured the community, with every server seeming to prefer those maps. That's to be expected, another DLC would do the same thing. Its just what happens when something new shows up. Give it time and the servers will likely go back to a somewhat balanced rotation. Personally i LOVE B2K, its odd as hell to play Rush on those maps but its a blast. But prefer a full rotation server since the B2K maps get old the 10th time around.

              Re: Poor BF3

I played the game because I don't want to be like the person who plays the game for 1 hour and says how much a game sucks. The problem is EA. EA already has DICE working on other projects I can assure you. The game just won't be fixed in ways like net code and lag in which a person sees. I am sure they will tweak in ways weapons work and other little things, but I don't see them fixing major problems. Also the number of the people playing I can't say, but you can tell that there is not as many servers with people on them as before. Which is sad. I don't like playing on 24/7 metro meatgrinder. If I want to play a on a good map during the day, most times I have to play an EU server.

I don't want the game to be perfect. The only FPS game in which ran great and was IMO perfect was COD 4 (not COD 2.5 or any of this other crap). But, that game was very simple and did not have nearly as much to it as bf3. But, I played COD4, 2142 for almost year and half with over 1k hours each. We just need bf3 to get some love in which the way it runs/ plays.

                GameTracker

11,943 servers in total (It was 12,150 yesterday)

1750 with more than 8 people and an active game going

                8,050 servers sitting absolutely empty

400 servers sitting with 1 idle player

200 servers sitting with 2 idle players

150 sitting with 3 idle players

                11AM EST Friday

the numbers i quoted earlier were 5 AM.

During off peak times the player count has been dropping below 30k over the last week, more each night according to BF3 stats. Yes I'm only referring to the PC players as that's the only player community that really matters for us.

These numbers are shocking and downright sad, they should literately knock the devs out of their chairs, but instead, much like you just did, they simply cant fathom or accept them as fact and dismiss it as incorrect information when it most certainly is not. Ignorance and arrogance is threatening to knock off another DICE title only 2 months out of the gate and the only ones who will truly suffer are us, the hardcore players, the ones who don't bitch, don't whine for nerfs and simply just want to game, we always suffer from DICE's attempts to appease the casual players and their careless untested server releases and patches.

I dont mean to sound like I'm munching on sour grapes here but as a server owner, Battlefield veteran and a hardcore gamer I feel like I'm getting the shaft from DICE as of the last 2 battlefield titles in their attempts to appease the casual COD gamer.

I have noticed this, really not many active servers here in Australia and yes people get kicked from servers constantly
                  , dropping out?

I blame EA master servers and now origin.

I've also noticed servers dwindling lately. It's better as this week has gone on (people getting off for the holiday's I assume), but earlier this week I had a tough time finding a 24/7 B2K server in the US with more than 5 players.

The game may have its share of problems, but its like a drug your hooked on, no matter how much you wanna say no, you just keep playing.

They fired the Desert Combat guys right after BF2 launch and they went on to make Homefront, somehow I think DC maps would of been in poor taste.
