Is anyone else wondering what happened to this feature? It looks like it was never put back in after the beta issues with people falling through the map (yet it worked fine in the alpha) but wasn't this supposed to be a rather largely advertised feature? why has noone missed it? I mean it works fine in BFBC2 so why cant Frostbite 2 handle it?
So what happend to terrain deformation?

Re: So what happend to terrain deformation?
I did notice that there isnt as much terrain deformation but tbh i dont really "miss" it that much. -
Re: So what happend to terrain deformation?
its still in there?!
I swear I have come across many a crater, created by explosions (mainly tank shell impacts) and even crawled into them a bit
it does seem harder to deform thoughComment

We know FB2 can do it because of both the Alpha and the Beta. I guess something bad changed when they were turning all the code into console code.Twitter: @CptainCrunch

Re: So what happend to terrain deformation?
Did some digging and found the above.Server updates were also updated recently which includes terrain deformation. During the BF3 beta, players would often dig trenches with C4, but the final didn't include this feature. Users on Reddit are reporting that the feature is now working again and holes can be dug once again with C4. Terrain deformation in Battlefield 3 can offer a major tactical advantage on maps like Operation Metro, Tehran Highway, and Operation Firestorm. Ground damage is only slightly comparable to what could be done in the beta, but it is still a nice addition to Battlefield 3's multiplayer.Twitter: @CptainCrunch

Re: So what happend to terrain deformation?
I wish we could blow up and repair bridges like in BF2. Blowing up bridges would come in handy.Comment

Re: So what happend to terrain deformation?
Depends of the map then, because on Seine Crossing for ex you have a MCOM and a flag on a bridge and the map is very small, the engineers trying to repair the bridge would receive a tons of mortar shells.Comment
