                Battlefield 3, or BF3 (development code-name: 'Paris' or 'Venice') is the twelfth installment in the Battlefield Series and was developed by DICE. It is the sequel to Battlefield 2 and was released on October 25, 2011[2] for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.[6] A sequel, Battlefield 4, was developed and released by EA and DICE on October 29, 2013. MP5 = YES!

                  L96A1 = YES!

                  L85 = YES!

                  Its a shame there isnt a 50.cal sniper such as the M95 or something similar.

                    Pretty pictures are nice, but what I really want is the weapon data: damage, recoil, spread, etc.. I want to know if weapon choice (within a class) really matters or if the weapons are pretty much just different skins.

                    My favorite BF weapon was the Baur H-AR in 2142. The AN-94 in BC2 is a close second. High per/shot damage balanced with high recoil. Best used in single shot, but tame the recoil, tame the beast.

                      Demize said it wouldn't be in the MP game as they can't balance a .50 cal rifle. That was probably leftover from when it was in.

                          Actually as much as I am disappointed, I can see that... How much the M95 was nerfed in both BF2 and BC3...

                            Re: Weapon list on Battlefield.com

                            The balance is actually rather easy. Limit it so it can only fire while prone with the bi-pod deployed. The only thing unrealistic about the .50Cal weapons in games is the people running around firing them from the hip or standing. I don't know how hard that would be to do, code wise, and that fact that this would play so different from what people are used to are probably why they haven't done this.

                            Didn't Project Reality or PoE2 have it work this way? (Haven't played those in ages and never as sniper.)

                            The odd thing is, they could do this and there are enough hard core snipers out there that would love the challenge. You'd see .50Cal Only servers probably too.

                              That leads to the problem of people camping and not helping the team as much.
