  • Performance results with your PC.

I've been looking at some of the results of the beta with different specs.

    From the EVGA forums:

"As per my sig/Mods Rigs, I get 55 FPS average with everything on Ultra @ 1920x1200 with a stock i7 920 2.66GHz and one EVGA GTX 480 SC. The drivers I'm using are the latest 285.38 betas.

    New thread format -

    CPU: i7 920 2.66 GHz (stock)
    GPU: EVGA GTX 480 SC
    Res: 1920x1200
    Monitors: 1
    3D: No
    Drivers: 185.38 Beta

    Settings: Ultra (all)
    FPS: 46-55 "

    "CPU: i7 920 2.66 GHz (stock)
GPU: EVGA GTX 560 TI SC
    Res: 1920x1080
    Monitors: 1
    3D: No
    Drivers: 185.38 Beta

    Settings:mostly HIGH (auto settings)
    FPS: 40-50fps "

"Same just did a quick run also, one GTX 570 Classy @ stock with the 2600K @ stock, averaged around 62FPS @ 1920x1080. With both in SLI @ stock, average was 98 FPS @ 1920x1080, lol yeah this game isn't that hard to run. DICE must of had some crutty 580 SLI rig running BF3. "

Looks like 580 is just hype according to this. (Well, it's still beta, who knows?)

So how is your performance going?

    From overclockers.net

"okay another fraps benchmark run for 3 minutes.

this time Ultra presets, nothing else changed from that. 1080p, BF3 beta drivers

    GTX 570 OC 900/2000
    4.2ghz 2500k
    min 37
    max 77
    avg. 47.989

this was the OUTDOOR level. Subway def gets higher framerates."

Re: Performance results with your PC.

I haven't benchmarked yet, but I will get to that soon.

        i7 920 @2.66 ghz
        GTX 260 SLI
        1920 x 1200

I'm running auto settings, which gives me mostly medium and some high settings. I'm getting about 50-60 FPS from what I can tell outdoors.

As I said, I will run a benchmark later.

EDIT: Benchmark shows that I get basically 60 FPS average.

Also, I'm using the 285.38 beta drivers from Nvidia.

            CPU: QX9650 @ 3.8
            GPU: GTX460 x2 SLi
            Res: 1680x1050

            Drivers: 285.38 Beta
            RAM: 4Gig
            OS: Win7 Home Premium 64Bit

All "Ultra" settings EXCEPT shadows, and HBAO is off (SSAO on), 2xAA

Cards are overclocked by 27% with Afterburner...for the most part, in most of the map I can maintain 45-55 FPS. But damn, I get some hellashish lag spikes quite often which sucks pretty bad (was worse when I was running 1900x1200). I tried all HIGH setting...didn't seem to make a difference. :S Might have to try medium settings just to see if it is performance or net related.

EDIT: Did something change/update today? I've been getting a solid 58 frames average outside, 72 inside and virtually no lag spikes. Very nice.

Re: Performance results with your PC.

We're all going to get the same result relatively. Like they did with the alpha, they limited the graphics. So Ultra still looks like medium/high.

suppose I better wait to lay down the cash for 2 more BENQ XL2410T until after the final version is released especially if people are getting these 50fps and below results with the beta and it's gimped graphics........I'm a 120FPS kind of guy.......I think I'd still rather be gaming at 120FPS with one monitor than 60FPS and have eyefinity....besides, if your not pumping at-least 120 FPS into a 120HZ monitor it will never shine like it as meant to.

has anyone put their settings on low and checked it out? is there a frame rate cap in the beta?

                  Siggeh.

                  Outside I get
                  Min, Max, Avg
                  27, 41, 33.167

                  Inside it almost doubles.

I don't notice much of a difference when I put it on High other than the higher fps. And I don't like that HBAO crap.

Re: Performance results with your PC.

I got it running all ultra, with no AA and the other AA option turned off. res is 1440x900 as i own a 19"w wish i had my 24" from back home anyways thinking of picking up a 22". oh the specs are:

                    i5 750 stcok 2.67ghz
                    4GB ddr3 corsair ram
                    GTX560 ti factory oc
                    corsair 650tx
                    win7
                    nvidia beta drivers 285.35

happy to run it at ultra, although i see no significant changes when changing to high and back. as for FPS i am not sure what i am getting, i get lag but that is from the game not the system.

                      CPU: i7 2600K 4.4 GHz (OC)
                      GPU: XFX 6970 x2 Crossfire
                      Res: 2560x1600
                      Monitors: 1
                      3D: No
                      Drivers: 11.9 Beta

Settings: Auto (Ultra for textures, High for everything else)
                      FPS: 50-70

I only had time to play a couple rounds last night and I didn't seriously try to tweak anything, I just had Fraps running in the corner and would occasionally glance over. 70 was an average outdoors. Inside, yeah, it was much higher.

Re: Performance results with your PC.

Im averaging 50FPS outside and up to 100FPS inside on these settings:

Thats with the Nvidia beta drivers on a GTX 470 card.

                          My system:

                          Intel i7 950 @3.06GHz
                          EVGA GTX 470
                          Beta Drivers 285.38
                          Win 7 64bit

I will set it to Ultra, but with the cap, I dont expect to see much change. I will also report back medium and low settings, just for fun.

Our clan leader is running a 470 too and he's happy with what he's getting, you just cant get too crazy on the ingame settings, I think once people learn to tweak those settings to their rig it will be a whole new ball game, I believe that's exactly why DICE put them in there, to give the PC user even more control over his final target/avg FPS......and i love it!

                              Yeah, I agree.

I set mine to all medium and the FPS went from 50ish to 65ish and the game still ran very well and looked great.
