I hope they travel way faster than we saw in that video where it bumped into the barrier. I think they should go about as fast as RC-XD cars in Black Ops. That seems about right to me, otherwise they're sitting ducks.

But the RC_XD only need to reach their target to achive their goal.

The EOD-bots needs to stay stationary while they defuse/plant/whatever, so a high speed approach wont help them much. And IMHO it would also look strange considering their size.

I expect them to be more of a tool against campers. They will either have to shoot the bot and reveal their postion, or lose what they are guarding.

Not necessarily. A tank could be driving towards enemy fire while an EOD bot drives behind and repairs.

Do you honestly think an EOD bot with human health will stand a chance trying to arm an MCOM at the speed portrayed in the Caspian Border trailer? Why deploy an EOD bot to repair a vehicle you could repair yourself? Where's the bot's advantage?

The pacing of Rush wasn't that fast in the BF3 alpha. Don't be deceived by the trailer; while the action in the game is definitely fast paced, the video was heavily edited. If you watch the uncut version, it is much slower. Anyway, in the Rush, as long as I could get past the chokepoints, it was easy to plant the bomb (getting past the chokepoints was the problem). I could see an EOD bomb sneaking through the trees on Metro without anyone noticing easily.

Well, I'll take your word for it, but I'm a little skeptical about it's usefulness.
