The community, plain and simple. Right now nobody really knows what they want from BF3, weather its more of BFBC2 or more of BF2, but what they all want BF3. The point, a lot of people are pre-ordering BF3 and when it is released there will be a lot of people in game, like the good old days of BF2 when almost all servers were full almost all the time (24/7). And that is plain and simple, what I'm looking forward to. Admittedly the more people there are, the more differing opinions as to what they want, the more complaining on the forums; or in other words they good old days of BF2 :p

To be honest, no Desert Shield, no rolling hills with no action for for me as a sniper to hide in, I'm going to loose interest real fast.

Best part of a-lot of people is if someone is hacking/glitching in some way, you could leave a server and still find another 64man server that's near full to play on and have fun. Honestly, i'm looking forward to 64man servers in Battlefield with Planes, helos, tanks, it's going to be intense as long as they did it right which it looks like they did

Says you've been a member since 2006, I was mostly a lurker around this time, but I remember the forum mostly being about complaining about how bad the last patch was and how much more it screwed up BF2 or the J10 (oh and how the sniper rifles couldn't hit jack or the L85 couldn't kill someone with a single headshot).

Ive yet to see any game not have that conversations, except FFOW because it died a horrible death from the gate.
