ArmA really isn't crazy realistic. It's good fun. Have you played it?

I think Project Reality is far more complicated and realistic than ArmA or ArmA II.

I second this notion. Once you get past the difficult to learn interface ArmA is actually quite entertaining. PR has some far more realistic features, like the complete elimination of the HUD (there is still a rather adequate one in ArmA).

Yeah, I tried ArmA II and my mind was blown. Maybe I will give it another shot.

The only realistic thing about ArmA II is weapon and vehicle performance, and the health system. Everything else is extremely arcadesque. I can take off in an AH1Z, and get the "Realistic" flying down in 10 minutes. Then I can switch to manual fire, select AGM-144 hellfires, then hit TAB and shoot. By hitting tab you automatically select any enemy vehicle on the horizon. I get 8 hellfires, so if 8 enemy vehicles are withing my FOV, I can hit tab and shoot in about 4 seconds and take out 8 vehicles.

Yep, that's realistic.

It is a real shame about mod tools but I suppose we can't have everything. I'd just love to see some of those really fun mods like the Pirates one re-imagined with frosbite 2.0. Not yet convinced about Dino Mode although a Challenger 2 tank against a T-Rex would be extremely epic.
