You mean like the current social system stays in by pressing Q, but if you hold down Q, you get more options? I'm sure it will be like that

Yeah, exactly.

I guess I am just concerned they may add a messed up common rose to please the masses and then when it doesn't work they go "see, common rose was a bad idea."

Ofmg yes. I can't see how you could have a bad commo-rose, if it's like BF2 it's good enough even though it could see some improvements (contextual things).

I think the commorose is a defining feature of Battlefield - one of the best aspects of the game is the feeling that you are operating as part of a team. Other games I've played leave you feeling completely isolated from the people around you. Your in a group and spot an enemy coming up, in other games there's nothing you can do to communicate this to your team. Even if you're on headset it's not as effective as being able to say "enemy spotted" and actually point at the threat.

Of course it needs to be done properly. You need animations for the gestures you make. Hopefully DICE intended this from the outset and it hasn't been bolted on due to pressure from Battlefield veterans.

Though animations are nice, it is not a necessity for the commo rose or spotting. It's pretty obvious when Orange triangles and the mini map lights up.

yes i hope they improve the 2142 animations corresponding to commo rose thing. it would be great to have great animations fromthe new engine, while screaming follow me or stack up! or waving when "I need ammo!"

it would be very stupid of them by allowing "enemy boat spotted" when the maps dont even have boats... i mean, in bf2 you could accept it but just not anymore xD. still i hope the spot remains to tapping Q while the commo rose only goes for other stuff such as thanking, orders and requests

I'm glad to hear that they're listening to the community. Although I can't really say I doubted DICE in that sector, except for that Demize knobhead that won''t just give us burst M16A4s like in BF2.
