This just occurred to me when I was at work last night after I bought BFBC2+Vietnam. The reason I loved BFV so much was because it was cool to hop in a chopper with a load of guys on MG's and crank The Bird and fly around and chop people up. I think the music was a main player in making it great (one of my favorite games of all time). I know it's a far cry but I think it'd be sweet if we brought this feature back (obviously replace the music with modern music since it is modern (near future)).
Any snowball's chance in Hell we get some tunes back?

I don't think it would work well. The Vietnam war is associated with certain music through movies like Apocalypse Now and Full Metal Jacket. Having that music ingame adds to the Vietnam War (Movie) feel.
But in a modern setting it would just be annoying, like the kid on the bus playing his iPod so loud that the "music" comes out of his ass. It is next to impossible to select current music that isn't hated by a large part of the players.

yeah vreki is correct. I mean, when it has some sort of restriction or theme to it it's ok, but what's really modern? I mean i would hate the game if they decided to make me listen to lady gaga or some sort of electro - techno -future sounding music. Look at the example of PR, when you enter an arabic car you can turn on the radio and listen to some arabian music xD, but that's ok because it fits.

Yep there was some tunes, just not "real" tunes of the 70' like in BF:V.

The old battlefield tunes always get me going. Not really into this new loud static noise. Give me the good old battlefield drums anyday.

It could be map based instead. For Metro you could play French Techno.

ok so i went and checked it out and it seems like you have to manually edit the config file to enable radio.Originally posted by CptainCrunchYou're missing something.

then i did hear some in the game but it didnt seem like all the vehicles have radios, correct? i only heard it out of tank and chopper but not the smaller vehicles like tuk-tuks.
but even then, it's not very good. it's not even close to how original vietnam did the radio.

Yeah, the jeep and tuktuk doesnt make noise. Its the tanks, helis, and water patrol vehicle. Mine is the P key, but you should be able to switch channels and turn it off, except for the heli, which is always on.Originally posted by Minmasterok so i went and checked it out and it seems like you have to manually edit the config file to enable radio.

And yeah, they are not the great songs that DICE said they would be, but some crazy remakes of something.

I'm still waiting to find out who the composer is. The last BF game that the composer who did BF2 did was 2142 I believe. Both the Bad Company's were done by someone else. I didn't really like the score from BC.Originally posted by -Shifty-I like that but it's extremely modern and not everybody would like it.
I think BF2 had amazing tunes though. I can't wait to hear all of BF3s!Battlelog/Origin ID - Hurricane043
