Maybe it could go in off topic but... Bad Company 3

Most of you played BC2, not all played BC1.

I want to see what happens to those guys next year, after the BF3 thing dies out a little. I'm willing to wait for DICE making 2143 (if ever, really; if any game in this series of games needed single player, it was 2142) and instead have them finish a trilogy with the Bad Company guys.

Cos I sure as hell don't want to end in some good company.

To me it was refreshing for a military FPS to NOT have a grizzled, gritty badass main character. Not a veteran of a thousand wars, consumed by inner demons.

No. Preston is just a regular military guy who is in that for the job cos he didn't really know what to do with his life. So he made one mistake. And that mistake costed the army one transport helicopter and one government limo. So, instead of jailing him they transfer him not to a supersecret black ops team; but to the bottom of the food chain.

You know how some guys are the best of the best? Well these guys are the rest of what's left.

And Preston isn't happy cos he soon finds out Bravo Company, AKA BAD Company earned that monicker cos they throw in every misfit and unadapted guy who the military can't afford to let go unpunished.

And then they go and have a ton of wacky adventures involving a crate full of gold. And they desert the army. then they hire them again.

So yeah the story itself is cliched and has been done a thousand times already, specially the one in BC2. But it's still fresh for FPS on PC because well... in BC2 Preston has just become used to be in Bravo Company; and the Sarge is always given a mission the day before he is bout to finally retire; and Sweetwater and Haggard just has a ton of fun blowing up stuff.

So this time around, since they are the rest of what's left, after some guy neutralizes the very best, it's time for B Company to get serious.

And you know how the cowboys always go to war on sundays? And sometimes on Mondays too.

Well I want to see what happens after the russian invasion; cos that's Red Alert 2 stuff right there.

I wouldnt mind them continue that story with the wackiness of BC1. Ive seen a few clips of BC1 and it was alot more funny than BC2 was and I thought BC2 was pretty good.

I do wish they would go back to the slapstick humour that was in BC1. But I just hope DICE doesn't go the Activision route and release a game every year as that would split the player base of each game.

hmm, i dont give an ass about the singleplayer thats why i barely care about bad company. What i am really interested in is BF2143. After all BFbc2 had a singleplayer that had a mission where you had to survive to falling mortars, and the only element you could base that mission in was luck. Normally you expect the mortars to miss on purpose... right? Nah, once bfbc2 was out i played through the whole campaign and never touched it again.I canm barely remember the story to be honest and I think that if the effort putted into the campaign could be used in making the game more balanced with more maps weapons , vehicles, or just a better experience overall.

I wouldn't mind them making a BC3 to finish the trilogy, but keep it PC based and have jets and 64 players and such. If they are going to make it a console port again, I don't want it (I would still buy it though lol).

Exactly what I was saying on another forum, everyone agreed the BC2 campaign was meh and the few that played BC1 regret its wackiness and humor.

Played BC1. Good campaign but the online was pretty awful. Never played BC2 despite all the good reviews. I was just horrified by BC1. So I was pretty upset when BC2 had the Vietnam DLC (BFV was my favorite game ever).

Well at the price of all of it now, it may be worth the risk to you. Ive really enjoyed the game, despite its parts that are not Battlefield, but I also relize that it wasnt meant to be Battlefield, but a branch.

I wish they would split the series up:
Battlefield for multiplayer and Bad Company for singleplayer.
Two distinct brands that each focus on one thing instead of now where BC is a Battlefield Light in MP, and most BF3 press releases discusses the SP mode

Thats not a bad idea. Do you think it would work though with todays gamers and how most consoles have both single and multi player parts?

Maybe if it was priced a bit less, it could work. There would be no replay value though, which may be an issue.

Yeah it's only $20, and there are still a bunch of people playing. It's a great deal.

I hope that is true as it wasn't true with BF2 and BF2142

Well it was somewhat true. BF2 was released June 2005 and BF2142 was released October 2006. That's more than a year. Also, BC2 was released March 2010, and BF3 will be released October 2011. That is almost more than a year.

I think they are talking about a literal year. I expect we will see a 1-2 year dev cycle for each game.
