No, bu tif you are planning on BF3 super graphics then don't expect that.
I had that same processor but the mobo died, replaced it with an E8400@3 Ghz; I replaced several videocards over the years, my latest one is a Radeon 6850 and I get steady 60 fps on BC2, I'm expecting BF3 to be more optimized for beta and launch.
This is at 1440*900, and I get even better performance on 1080p for some odd reason. for frostbite it's more important having a powerful processor; as long as you don't need to upgrade your power supply for the 550ti it will be a nice improvement, yes. -

Well I went with a Geforce GTS 450 for around 100 dollars as a small upgrade to my current system and it seems to play the BF3 alpha pretty good @ 1900 x 1200 resolution and low settings.

Ugh... I need to overclock my i7. Mines stock speed is only 2.8ghz. But need another fan or 2. Though my 6870 is doing well.Comment

That didn't take you long
But of course there was not much time left if you wanted to try the Alpha.
I am surprised that it works with something that much below the recommended, but good for youComment

I mean I am not sure what my frames per second were but it felt smooth most of the time. I did notice some slow down when I was inside the train depot.Originally posted by VrekiThat didn't take you long

Core duo`6750(2.7ghz) but ive always run it at 3-3.2 GHZ as these are good on heat.
nvidia 130m gt
4gb ram
core duo t9550 (2.66ghz) not overclocked because it's a laptop, i'm thinking of instaling win7 , clean its inside, apply cpu paste , undervolt and overclockComment

Never mind the frames if you enjoy the game. Also, with a bit of luck the final version will have better performance, and there might also be some BF3 improvements in later driver releases.Originally posted by stilla-killaI mean I am not sure what my frames per second were but it felt smooth most of the time.
