I'm pretty sure it will be near perfect at launch, with the usual trademark DICE problems and server outages (BF games are really popular the first couple of months) and then it will slowly be nerfed into oblivione. At least it gives around 6 months of unadultered fun.

They really ruined BC2 with all the nerfing and boosting they did to the weapons. They should just leave weapons the way they are.

And the completely lack of content beyond ports of console maps (of wich Harvest, Oasis and Heavy Metal feel more in line with traditional battlefield, GO FIGURE) and refusal or inability due to lack of time, to properly fix team stacking and some other pervasive bugs helped kill it even faster than 2142. Yeah that's not up for discussion, that's not even news.

I bought it well aware that it would die quickly and swiftly once BF3 was announced; rmember it got leaked even before BC2 launched? Not only BC2 suffered; terrible patches for BF2 and 2142 that took years to finish. Wasn't the 1.5 patch for 2142 programmed by only one guy?

At any rate BC2 lasted well over a year; it was a nice run for a nice small quick game.

I doubt BC2 is as dead as you say it is. You make it sound as if there are hardly a dozen populated servers.

Yeah, BC2 is still very popular. I can find a server pretty easily.

BC2 is ranked #6 on xfire's most-played games list.

So yeah it's kicking.

And BF2 is down at #18.

Keep in mind xfire only registers hours/minutes played per day for xfire users, so the vast majority of players who have the misfortune of not having xfire don't get recorded.

I stopped playing for a bit so most of the servers that I'm not allowed back into shut down.

I say it because trying to find a vanilla rules server is like winning the lottery; there are only stupid rules and scrub rules servers now.

That part is true. What is really stupid is the Level XX or less only servers. Vets just create new accounts and go into them to pwn the real newbs.

Then the servers that are Cannot use grenade launcher/40mm/sniper kit. You know, I hate those too, but its part of the game.

Our server is always going, especially afternoons and weekends.

Not to mention the still massive amount of servers to play on.

well, i'd play more bfbc if i my game ran faster x). Also if my game ran faster my kdr would be higher than 1.2
