DICE remaking bf2 maps for bf3?

I'm not sure where i heard this before, but isn't DICE remaking Gulf of oman, Karkand, and another map for BF3? If so that's awesome, considering Gulf Of Oman is probably the best battlefield map they've ever made.

if you pre-order the limited edition you get the maps for free. my only hope is that they are actually remade and not just ported from BF2

This was just posted on the battlefield facebook-

"Stay tuned tomorrow for the very first images and new details on the Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand expansion pack! Includes interviews with the Lead Designer of Back to Karkand and the designer of the original Strike at Karkand map from Battlefield 2."

Looks like we'll find out more tomorrow....

What??? Thats crazy. I havent seen any of this. Next you all will be telling me that the maps will be Karkand, Sharqi, Wake, and Oman :R
