the scary thing about releasing it for the holidays is that EA won't likely pass up that opportunity and force DICE to release it even if it is in alpha stage. we all know it takes BF games a few patches after release to get to beta and few years more to be final release.

I think that's maybe for films? I can't remember of the top of my head and cba to google it. But I know media like DVDs, CDs, and games are usually released on a Tuesday.
