Thats what PC players want, but the impression I get is that console players (and the majority of PC players) want Team Deathmatch.PC and Console Battlefield players want similar gameplay: Epic sprawling Battlefields, and also tight infantry fights. Balanced weapons and land/sea/air vehicles with a rock-paper-scissors emphasis. Squad and teamplay, where no one player can be a do-it-all super soldier, and communications systems to support teamplay. And a deep and rewarding system of progression with deep and varied gameplay that keeps you wanting to go 1 more round. Everyone also wants it to be easy to play with their friends.Comment

it's more like they can't even if they wanted to... well at least not the same way the PC battlefield gamers want to. their x1800 and 7800gt based consoles are holding PC games back.Comment

With the Move and Kinect being the next gimmick, I doubt either console will be replaced or improved any time soon. They want to be more like the Wii, not more like high-end PCs.Originally posted by Kylee!Comment

Microsoft and Sony have put far too much money into Kinect and Move for them to fail, if they do, the game industry may see some cutbacks in the AAA industry (source: Extra credits on the escapist)

Since those wii wannabes are add-ons, they could technically be add-ons for the nextgen consoles as well. Probably even act better.
I think I read some articles a while back though that said Microsoft and Sony claim the current consoles have not reached their full potential and were pushing back the next consoles. I dont keep up on consoles anymore, so I could be wrong on that.

Even with all this elaborate text, Demize has failed to actually understand what sets a PC and a console apart and what is it that PC players appreciate. I got the impression that he was talking about hard to please elitists, which is not the case at all. And amusingly, when he mentioned what BF stood for, BC2 doesnt fit into that category at all.

All three of them want to be the next new big thing; you miss out on keeping up and you die. The wii took advantage of pricing, children, families and banked on other massively large "cultish" titles but I wouldn't be suprised if nintendo isn't the next to up the ante.
Nintendo has been going through an R&D pump ever since they banked off the wii. Look at what they came up with for the wii now take that team and pump it full of hundreds of millions.Comment
