DICE has a short introduction of The Huey with a few pictures over at http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/batt...elicopter.aspx

The important part is this:

The Huey in our upcoming expansion pack has four seats: one for the pilot (sitting on the right side), two M60 machine gun positions, and one seat for an extra soldier who can use his regular loadout while in the helicopter.

The Huey's main weapons are the two side-mounted 70mm rocket pods, making it a lethal tank killer. However, this vehicle can be damaged by tank shells, RPGs, and regular hand guns in the game, so don't get overconfident whizzing around with "Ride of the Valkyries" on the radio.

I especially like that Helis now can be taken down with handguns, instead of relying on "smart" AA which DICE has been consistently unable to make work for most of the BF series.

Yeah, if side arms can easily damage it, then its not going to be used much unless you have an engi in seat 3 or 4.

I think its a four man chopper now, so you can only have an Engineer in seat 4.
But obviously there will have to be some kind of balance, I am just happy that they no longer can ignore a lmg completely.

I have a suspicion that when they said "hand guns" they meant small arms in general - i.e. guns held in your hand.

It may not be a bad deal, its just I know the huey is famous for taking a lot of damage before going down. I had to see pistols taking 5 health a shot off of it. It probably wont be that bad, but a LMG with 200 rounds will take them down pretty easy, I would think.

Could be wrong, we shall see, if the price is right

I REALLY hope this means they're bringing back the radio. I loved running people over with the 600mph jeeps while playing "I Fought the Law".

It probably wont be that bad, but a LMG with 200 rounds will take them down pretty easy, I would think.

Hopefully only when you use actual skills to shoot the cockpit with it. I don't think they made it so they take more damage when you hit the cockpit or tail. If they did I never noticed any difference.

the radio is probably only audible client side only, just like how the vehicle horns currently are.

Yeah, thats one of those bugs that was reported before the game was released and seems to not be a bug now. Just like flying helis vs flying UAVs not being the same.

Very annoying.
