BF2 is good for all the gameplay possibilities but the game have his problems, like maps with tons of flags feel like you're playing musical chair, horrible weapons accuracy, op aircrafts, almost useless commander except for 24/24h UAV and uber arty. BF2142 have a better balance and weapons accuracy.
More like a sense of annoying considering you couldn't do anything with the ****ty fixed stingers. Planes and choppers could really ruin a round.frosty you are more than true! There was a sence of fear when you saw an enemy hely or plane or tank if you were on foot, now its just jump out and chuck norris all the way in.
Also waiting to see if BF3 is going the casual way or not.Leave a comment:

I am hoping Novalogic can maybe step up to the plate with their next release, Angel Falls, if it ever comes out.Originally posted by Minmasterwhatever the problem is, BF3 will be the last chance for dice. i've been a bigtime BF fan but they have mostly disappointed in recent years. i just hope some other game company can make a decent BF type game so i can jump ship.Leave a comment:

I need to have the feeling of bf2 and bf2142 renovated
. all bf2 had with more stuff, destructible environment and better graphics ( GOOD OPTIMIZED PC GRAPHICS! NOT CONSOLE PORT) and physics would do the job

BF2 has this aura about it, Dice and many others talk about "battlefield moments", in BF2 (or 2142 and probably 42), these moments would be truely awesome, in the latest games everything seems to be all cluster****ed into a meatgrinder with a dash of dust and explosions.
All of the latest games have catered towards console gamers, they just want to get in there and be shooting all the time, shooting, dying and "pwning". But in BF2 it wasn't all intense action but you got this great feeling of camaraderie, whether it be when 3 tanks role into a flag and rip up ****, or when a choppers comes in and rains hell on the enemy team.
I really can't put my finger on it but BF2 just had an aura about it, when you play it, something magical is bound to happen, with the latest games (like bc2), it's just all a bit meh.
edit: Like for example, many people complain about the choppers and jets being OP, but it really drills fear into you when you hear that MEC gunship gunner pounds explosive rounds outside your building. In BC2 it's just a simple *yawn* tracer CG/RPG/ anything, in BF2, there is a sense of fear when a chopper/jet is coming to your flag. I bloody loved that :PLeave a comment:

7! see Dice you are poor a hit
Sounds like the hit boxes become mysterious when moving target online, only net code & your connection (.) (.)
Let hope the net programmer is a talent
- presuming the hit boxes are top notch i.e boxes we can hit [no lag]; i <3 boobies ^^ and group testing

Yeah, but also....infantry combat kind of sucked, I much prefered that of CoD:UO. No squad support, no HUD on vehicles..............BF2/2142 are more fun IMO/Originally posted by Minmasterwell it was more epic than bf2...
for example: carriers, battleships, destroyers/cruisers, subs were all drivable.Leave a comment:

This is exactly how I feel, except about 2142. Just that feeling of playing for years and still loving the game. Its almost like nostalgia itself because I havent seen it since. I try to go back, but it never feels the same without my old friends and the 24/7 servers.Leave a comment:

Both are like 5. I don't know if the hit detection is done all server side or something but it's not nearly as fluid and responsive as many other games out there. I rarely have problems with hit reg, but it just doesn't feel "right" after playing on source, quake (including CoD) and other engines for some timeOriginally posted by stilla-killaOn a scale of 1 to 10, one being the worst and 10 being the best, how would you rate the hit detection for BF2 and BC2?Leave a comment:

I see your point. However at the time there was really nothing like BF2 that could offer what it offered. Sure if I load in right now im going to get stomped by all the 'pros' who are still playing. But when it came out and was still populated with many more players you could get much more enjoyable rounds. Wake did kind of suck. My favourite maps were Mashtur and Songhua, both ridiculously underplayed as they were very good maps with decent balance.Originally posted by [Expletive Deleted]I just don't see BF2 through the same rose-colored glasses that many people wear, is all...
When I look back at BF2 I think of the many many many hours of ranked that I sank into the game, I think of the many more hours doing stunts on the Sir server, playing sandbox, playing POE, playing PR and FH2.
Now I think I have put nearly as many hours into PR as vanilla.
@The op's post. I dont think any other game has been able to capture land/sea/air in the same way without being a milsim or just terrible. Bf2 allowed you to play any role without having to spend hours learning how each asset works. The somewhat rock/paper/scissors gameplay worked so well.
I just hope for BF3 DICE do not try to compete directly with MOH and MW2 in (lets face it) infantry combat and stick to 1942 style gameplay, with maybe BC's customisation, although I hope they do away with the stupid perk systems.
I never really play BC as its just a frustration to me. I already have games that do the infantry combat much better and the minimal role of vehicles is annoying. The limits on classes is another thing that really bugged me.Leave a comment:

BF2-5, BC2 7.Originally posted by stilla-killaOn a scale of 1 to 10, one being the worst and 10 being the best, how would you rate the hit detection for BF2 and BC2?
The biggest gripe I have about BC2's hit detection is the running hit box, the dummies increase the hit box size of those that re running. Plainly they don't shoot often, because if a target is moving it is HARDER to hit.
This is just MY opinion though.Leave a comment:
