what is best gun for engineer (for me?)

I use the dart for pistol
and CG for main weapon
and alt fire for vehicles
when 'out' of vehicle
I try to 'snipe' as often as possible
cannot win a close fight - fps too slow
(well - maybe I am just too slow :shakehead

anyway = what is best gun and kit?
(I use the p2000 but get tons of kill assists
and very very few kills - at say 70-150 yds)

should I change to the ak47?
and magnum ammo?

hmm, I never use engi smgs with scope (waste of a slot imo) so I am always on ironsights

never had trouble killing anyone at medium range though with an smg, long range is doable depending on circumstances (amount of cover, stationary target)

The Uzi I liked a lot because it has good ironsights even though they are slightly misadjusted, you could start there

otherwise, utterly loved the UMP very capable gun in all situations imo, as is the XM8C

Engineer isn't really about ranged combat, unluckily for you he excels in the close quarter/medium range fights where you can burst from the hip while moving

just tap fire at range though

Use the UMP with magnum ammo. Also, dont fight people head on with the class, but flank. The weapon is silenced for a reason and its not to charge into enemies gun blazing.

The AK74 is good also.

yeah - tried the AK before I found about 6 more guns with the slider

close quarters, use SMG. mid to long range, snipe em with the CG.

i think all the SMGs have similar characteristics, but i chose scar-l and platinumed it because it has same damage as UMP but better iron sights.

If you're getting lots of assist w/ smg, sure put on magnum ammo. PP2000 has wicked rate of fire, so up close with magnum ammo you'll be fine. At longer range, I like UMP or Uzi and usually use red dot.

As CtnCrunch said, flanking is best with smg ... and almost everything else.

I think he means on the weapon selection menu. when you have lots of guns unlocked they don't all show on the list. I usually just use the mouse wheel.

I hate the PP-2000. It's a Pea-Shooter. I love my AKS, my #1 Weapon, overall. I use it with Magnum and 4X Scope, I can't hit crap with those stupid iron Sights. Get plenty of headshots with the extra zoom, in mid and long range.

If your accurate at long range and thats all you engage at... Shotgun with Slugs. Use the Neo or 870.

I have just worked through for golds on all of my engineer guns and have to say I developed a new appreciation for them. With the exception of the SCAR and the UMP, I had less than 5 kills on each before I started.

Of them all, I have to say the PP2000 is my favorite. Since I mainly use mines, I equip out with red dot and magnum rounds. The key is to aim for upper body and head. All of them are fairly devastating, but I found that the 2000 has almost ZERO recoil and you can land the vast majority of your shots. It also has a very fast reload.

Another important key is to continually reload because these weapons burn through ammo very quickly.
