i used it and it still sucked. good news is that i tried the t88 after that with 4x and magnums and was rocking face with it. i was getting headshots everytime (even when i clearly shot them in the chest) t88 all the wayComment

Its not really at its best at long range. It shines up close and mid range. Like all weapons, you have to get used to it. Once you get the hang of it, it seems to shine the most.
My set up is
VSS
m93
extra ammo
magnum ammo
n/a
The stock scope is fine, and as fast as this gun goes through rounds, the extra ammo pays off. Magnum ammo is best bet for second spec unless you go extra c4 for mcoms or vehicles. Use the vss as if you were playing engineer.Comment

I wish they would just back out of all of the weapon changes. I loved the way the game was before they nerfed all of the weapons and the 40mm. The grenade launcher didn't even bother me.

GOL is better for "Drag" shooting if it's what I think it is. The SV98 isn't worth the larger magazine if you can't put the bullets on target. The GOL is such an OP noob-stick you can strafe and shoot with pinpoint accuracy.Originally posted by AmaranthuseComment

No way! The VSS is awesome at long rang with 12x scope. It sometimes takes 3-4 bullet to kill if you miss the head (usually takes 1-2 hits), but it's great at long range. The only problem it has though is shooting through objects like wood or sheet metal. Honestly it's is a great psychological weapon, because people get so pissed and annoyed. i just started using the VSS and have to say it's probably the best gun in the game. i don't think there is another weapon as versatile. it is extremely effective in all areas from CQC to "marksman headshot" distances. i'm pretty crappy at this game and even i managed to get 60 kills in 1 round w/ the VSS yesterday. i was blown away by its capabilities.Comment

I had no problem with it before the patch either at range or with a red dot/acog on it and it kicked arse then Think I might have to dig it out this afternoon and see what its like now :)Comment
