how can you detect mines IN the water????

seems odd that mines are soooooooooo powerful vs armor when they
are hidden in the water, especially in Laguna Pressa when you have one exit and you have to cross the water

sometimes I hear the AI voice yell "mines in the area"
(not always??)
and sometimes I see little white circles on the min-map
(but not always?? - or do I just miss seeing them)

some guys are really good , they also hide them in 'holes' in the ground
that is FAIR (to me) = still having trouble with the water mines though

any suggestions on handling them?
(besides staying out of armor??)

The rivers on laguna pressa are notorious for mines. I usually shoot the water before i move up, possibly detonating anything hidden. I think you spots mines by visually seeing them and pressing Q.

Shoot at the water with the tank or get off and shoot a rocket, if you suspect mines in the water.

Only 40mm Grenades and detonated the mines.

that is what I had started doing :nod:
think I got a few that way
then they started dropping mines out in the "deep water"
sort of between B & C out toward the damn
I like cruising back and forth out there
(ie recon cannot sneak up on you from the hillls like near the waterfall area by A

or they drop them along the thin stream and the guns cannot depress low enough
(sometimes I hop into the gunner seat to spray the area)

I do not spot mines (with Q)
but I still see some on my map as little white circles
maybe it is my V Elec that is auto spotting ??

You are not supposed to detect the mines, that is the whole point
Water is an Engineers best friend, I have gotten several gunboat kills that way.

man I have been water mining for ages now, especially on Laguna

in armour like the Bradley, I typically prefire the water with the main cannon, takes care of them, otherwise I throw a grenade in the water etc

I know all the spots as I use them

the best map for mines in water is Atacama Desert, just throw mines all around B flag.. but remember to stay alive coz any 380 point tank kills dont count if your dead...

the UAV alt for the vehicles will detect and display mines

yes as I said - that is what I use - but it does not always work ?
maybe lag - maybe I drive too fast = maybe I just do not pay enough attention to it :cry:
