Re: Modern Warfare 2- A game of Chance

The kill streaks are there to attract the 12-18 year old crowd of kids who want to feel like they "PWN" (God I hate that word). But it's not enough for these little douche bags. They have to cheat.

Anyhoo, I think the features are OK because EVERYONE gets them, it's just a matter of being good enough to build them up. Also, if someone is camping and racking up kill after kill then it's not their fault..... There is a KILL CAM that totally reveals their position and every nook and cranny in MW2 is flankable. In my opinion, it's the laziness of the person who gets killed and does not want to see where he was killed from.

When I get killed by a camper I usually make it my goal to get him and I won't do it the same way everytime. That's the beauty of MW2. you can always attack from a different angle no matter where the person is.

Agreed! The game is garbage! I still don't understand the hype, are graphics really all you need to make a "great" game anymore?!?! I agree with you all the way Pace I think the gameplay is highly flawed with the way they did it. It could have been a great game if they did it right but now it's a console game and every console game has to be a halo game but only about killing-streaks, magic perks....or perks at all, etc. Kill-streaks get boring so fast but battling to win a tough map is awesome only to have it end bc the guy camping with the sniper rifle hit 26 easy sniper kills and pulled a nuke out of his.. you get the picture lol:laugh:

While I seriously dislike IWnet and MW2...

Halo doesn't have perks or killstreak rewards.
The first game I can remember with perks and KS rewards of this kind is CoD4. People aren't screaming about that being a console game.

It had everything a PC game should though.

Hence the reason it was probably the last big competitive game to come out, and even then... it wasn't that big.

I hate the new CoDs since they're unfriendly to community content.

Also killstreaks, unbalanced weapons, all this attachment/perk bull***t, etc doesn't help. I'd rather play an updated CoD. I would play CoD, but even going through the config won't let you run at my resolution and there aren't that many servers.

I don't mind attachments... in a modern game. attachments in a WW2 game or even vietnam game just dont make sense.

Though Perks, I do agree, they blow.

I felt that even perks could have a place in a shooter mixed with an MMO. Most have had a grounded base in some kind of training or natural trait.

Stopping Power: either extraordinary aim or modified rounds to cause more damage
Juggernaut: A badass who can tank a few extra rounds. They've been cited time and time again in history, many have been awarded the CMoH.
Dead Silence/Ninja Pro: It's common practice for light infantry to tape down their equipment and put soft leather over their soles in order to sneak more effectively.
Sitrep/Bomb Squad: Some people can just FEEL an IED or trap. It's hard to quantify those instincts, but good leaders act on them.
Steady Aim: A strong soldier can fight recoil very well.
Last Stand: Again, CMoH recipients have demonstrated that even soldiers that have been GRAVELY wounded can sometimes summon the strength to keep shooting or fall on a grenade when they should have already been incapacitated.
Marathon: I've known soldiers who could run two miles in under ten minutes. I've personally run 12 miles with a 70lb ruck in 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Sleight of Hand: Training. I'm sure people have seen the Youtube video of the guy who can reload a pistol mag faster than most people can blink.

There are others, I just don't feel like going into it any further.

I reckon if they only implemented ONE perk per player it would be a lot better, but since they have 3 we cant reduce it without the entire Xbox community going "Y U **** up mah game Nubs"
