What is HSAO and shutting off Bloom?

I've edited my config file, even set it to read only to hard lock the settings, but when I turn bloom off, it seems to stay on.

And what is HSAO and how does it effect the game?

I don't much about bloom other then i hate it. even know i got my set to false it seams to be still on

bloom makes things overly bright to compensate for crappy textures. turn it off unless you want to be blinded. the way dice implemented bloom is not good at all. it just feels like contrast was turned all the way up.

HSAO/HBAO gives you some detailed lighting/shadowing but it's not worth hurting performance over it. big time frames/sec killer.

my advice is to turn both off.
