    Re: New content, incoming.

Seems to me its stuff from BC1, just like when CoD4 came out and they uncovered all kinds of things for WaW in the game already there as well as coding for the AC130, which was modded in PST Jokers mod and added in MW2 as a killstreak.

Not all of it is leftover, but it could be traces of different games.

I saw an image a while back of the SPECTACT weapons, despite them supposedly being skins they the weapons looked to have different stats than the current ones, ie MG3 has less RoF and slightly more damage + accuracy, dont know if the picture is still around though.

I wouldn't argue with new pins/awards with proper DLC, like expansions (and I liked Northern Strike, it was quite good for about 5 quid).

But new awards for buying SKINS... man, in all honesty DICE has gone down hill since the BC2 release, like, proper down hill.

L_Twin was asked about maps from BC1 coming to BC2 and he said they're looking into it.

That was part of my thread about the Dr Pepper DLC. If you want the pins and insignias, you have to have the SPECACT DLC. If you want the SPECACT DLC on the PC or PS3, you have to pay for it. Baza has stated multiple times that ONLY Xbox players can use the Dr Pepper codes and that no one will get it for free. Well, except for Xbox players.

the vehicles in bfbc2 are really rarely used, for example theres just 1 map were u see the hind, wich sucks

Yes, but this thread is not about the Dr. Pepper DLC, but some made up idea because of the pictures found in the fan pack. Unless I misunderstood something, I read this entire thread as that.

As for DLC in general, yeah, the Dr.P thing sucks, but I couldnt find a code anyway and was going to buy it, so my plans dont change. If they make DLC that gives better/more weapons and maps then that is not only going to suck, but make me mad to seperate groups and the community like that, especially when they said they were going to TRY not to do that. No promises on it of course. If they are going to make DLC to reskin the same guns to make them look different and clothing and charge for it, Im OK with that for it doesnt give any advantage or cause you to disconnect because a map loaded.

Everyone is all mad for charging DLC, well so far its only been skins and I havent seen anything about pins and ribbons. I havent found anything about this thread being real and charging for this mysterious content. So at this time, I dont see any big deal myself. I guess if others want to get upset, knock yourselves out, but I dont see any reason to yet.

Well, Baza has hinted at other DLC in the future. But he has been pretty clear recently in stating that all DLC other than maps will cost money on the PC. Demize99 also said that he has no plans to add any new weapons to the game, and that the bayonet will never be used in BFBC2.

Frosty was talking about the pins and insignias added since the DLC went live on the Xbox. Go to http://bfbcs.com/stats_pc/CptainCrunch to see the new pins and insignias added for people who buy the DLC.

As I recall, there was a post on BFBC2 EAUK Forums by Baza saying there IS going to be new maps. He didn't say anything else though. I'll dig around and see if I can find it again.

New maps are coming and they won't be just game mode unlocks on existing maps, they've said this a couple of times - no further info than that though.

Tbh I dont see what the problem is with paying £5 for some small additions it doesnt bother me, at least I know I may still keep their interest in PC Gaming instead of jumping ship and focusing on Consoles. Times are changing and PC Gaming is getting smaller sitting here moaning about having to shed a few pounds for something is getting tiresome. After all if they have nothing to gain from it then they wont bother creating more.

                              Re: New content, incoming.

I loved the booster packs for BF2 and BF2142, and they were well worth the $10 if you could find someone else that played them. The BF2 ones were only active for about a week or two after released and then servers just went back to Karkand. Even normal vehicle map servers didn't want to throw an AF or EF map into the mix because everyone who didn't have them would be booted from the server when that map came up, and servers could be very hard to populate, especially the larger player count servers. That's the problem with paid DLC that's non-manditory, but that'st he conundrum. If they make it manditory, people will complain, and rightfully so, that in order to keep playing the game they have to pay what would basically amount to a monthly fee. If they don't make it manditory, there's the issue that the BF2 boosters suffered where you will have paid $5 or $10 for content you can't even play because no servers are running it.

Of course, this only pertains to DLC maps. If the only DLC they made was new weapons and awards but you could still integrate those with the old maps, that'd be another story. They should make the new maps completely free, but put in extra content like new guns that you can buy for $5 or something. So long as they don't make overpowered guns that way, heh. Imagine if the M60 or Carl G was paid DLC only. You'd never hear the end of it.

Plus the bonus of doing it that way would be people on the fence about buying the DLC could pick up dropped kits that had the DLC weapons and try them out to see if they were worth it.

Right. Some DLC will cost some will not(maps). Right, Demize said that. I said that demize said that.

OK, so now there are pins/insignias out of the blue, adding more enticement to buy the DLC that costs. Yet its nothing that gives any powerful weapons or seperates the community when on a server. I can see the people that care about stats raging on this because they dont want to buy the DLC but want all the stuff. So this part is a huge deal?
