Platinum air counts for all air?

I just got my platinum star for the Uav and while looking at my stats, i now have all platinum stars in all choppers. Is this a glitch or does one air vehicle count for all? I know for a fact i didnt get a platinum star for the Blackhawk. Anyone have a clue on how this works?

its basically a platinum star for all air vehicles, works the same in armour as well

Its like a cumulative sum of all air kills

few hundred UAV, some helicopter, totals up the medal not just on one type

Bah, that's kinda crappy. I like the challenge of getting the stars, and i think it's lazy for them to wrap all the vehicles together. So does this work the same as lets say shotguns? Like if i get a platinum star with the pump shotty, will i get it with the auto shotty? If so, that sucks big time.

I know the 870 and the SPAS-12 have separate stats, so I dont think there is an issue with the common weapons

The weapons are all independent. I think the vehicles are combined so people won't switch teams all of the time to use a certain vehicle.
So instead of switching to keep using an Abrams or Apache, a tank is a tank and a helicopter is a helicopter.

Well that blows. That is a ton of points missed out on in gold & platinum stars. I can see the Hind and Apache combined, or the Russian tank and the US tank combined. But simply throwing together a tank with a Bradley or an Apache with a Uav is pretty weak. The stars are a huge chunk to ranking up.

Yeah, I got golds on the blackhawk and it gave me them for all the aircraft, pretty weird tbh. The upside to this is I don't need to get seperate kills with the crappy boats to get stars.

it prevents vehicle whoring; so you don't have to be in a abrahams, to get tank stars you can use the bradley too. Now, picture trying to get 50 roadkills with the water skis. You can only get kills with the three man boat, only assault get those in isla inocentes.

Thats the thing. I dont care how difficult it is, its a part of the game. Its what keeps it fresh. I dont want gold stars where i dont deserve them. Thats just me. I dont like hand outs. This almost reminds me of when ranks were given away like candy on BF2. I like the challenge more than anything.

Firstly congrats on platinum in the UAV! Good effort!

However as has been mentioned the vehicles fall into groups in which you obtain medals for the groups rather than individual vehicles.

I'm at level 36 right now. And at this point there isn't many "good" weapons left in the game that I can use and still get stars... which kinda sucks tbh. It would've been nice if you could keep getting Platinum Stars after the first one. =/

i think it's to discourage vehicle whoring. you notice how easy it was to max out vehicle unlocks? it took half the time of any of the other class unlocks.

The weird thing is, if you go to your stats on BFBCS.com, you will see you are actually getting unique stars for each vehicle.

I have 4 Golds with the Apache, 1 Bronze with the Blackhawk, Silver with the Hind and Silver with the Havoc. Yet, in-game, it shows I have like 6 Gold Stars for all air vehicles. I guess it simply just tallies them all up in game, but outside the game, you'll see you have stats uniquely for each vehicle. Sadly, once you get the Platinum, it doesn't matter if you have a Bronze in the Blackhawk, it still considers you a Platinum for Air.

Im at rank 38 and its 200k to rank up, has been for a while, im about half way through lol

I want there to be double platinums on weapons, so like 2000 kills you get platinum rank 2 etc or something
