No wait... now that I think about it... Karkand wouldn't be that bad since you can no longer spam grenades effectively or fast; the 64 player version would make a nice Rush AND conquest map; USMC gets their uncap, MEC gets their uncap; and you fight for four flags in the in-between; only this time you can destroy the roadblocks and most of the stone walls; and topping the hotel would be awesome in that perspective.

    Yeah I'm voting Karkand.

I'd still want Mashtuur City or Road to the World championship; that one would be nice to.

As great as it would be I don't think we'll see any of our favorites from BF2,destruction may well make porting untenable.

Shame too, so many popular maps.

Why? They don't have to make every building destructable, just the walls; I went back to check the map out and the 64 player version would work well with new out of bounds borders to streamline the 32 players in the PC version; the layout is almost perfect for Rush if you get rid of the western hill flag zone; USMC already has a deploying area and has to advance more or less the same distance USMC has to walk from the start of Arica Harbor; in Fact, Arica is even bigger than Karkand, and not every building is destructable.

Lets face it the engine wont support most of those size maps!?(comparison sizes needed)

I would like to see 42 maps but this is the wrong era game!so i will wait for Bf3 and hope its set in WW2

Rambo, Arica Harbor is even bigger than Karkand; it's more the size of Jalalabad. It's the out of bounds that make the maps seem small in comparison.

That and the fact your soldier in BF2 is overweight and tires after running 10 meters.

Yes but even making all the walls destructable totally changes how the map will play compared to BF2. The BC2 maps were designed with destruction in mind. Taking an old map and trying to make it fit is just pointless when they could probably build a new map from the ground up in less time. They've remade enough maps for the games without destruction. At some point you've got to leave them in the past as they will never be the same anyway.
