CTD at startup - insert CD for steam version...

So with the servers being annoying today, I decided to try out the single player game, it loads for a bit and then gives me a prompt for a CD....I have the steam version...

So...I restart steam and my computer and give it another go, this time I get the error every time I start up... ok then

Restart steam again, now I get no error, but a CTD every time I start the game...

Any ideas short of re-installing the whole game? Which it looks like I might have to do...

Have you ran the software check for the game in Steam? You may have a corrupt file.
