I know it might not have a lot to do with BF2 but it does! Just want to say thanks BF2 for being the Best FPS and I know BC2 doesn't even stand up next to you but it's new. Goodbye BF2 and thanks for the memories and I hope to see you soon BF3!

I do miss gaming. There is absolutely no doubt, BF2 is/was the best multiplayer game ever. Yeah, yeah, yeah W.O.W. pulled a lot of players away and is probably more popular, but I never played it. I played BF2. When the clan I was in for competition broke apart because of WOW, I still continued to play BF2. I joined other clans, but it was never the same. The most frustrating part was that by the time I got good at BF2, this all went down and I never got to go as far as I could have (competition wise) with BF2. Nonetheless, BF2 ruled them all. I thought Crysis would take over and then, BFBC2 would be the next big thing. But, I don't think it will. It will have to be Battlefield 3 and BF3 will have to be the next step from BF2. BF2 will always be the founding father, the original king, the game that set the standard for all great games to come. BF3 will have to be pretty good for me to let go of Battlefield 2.

I would, but everyone knows my position on Karkand junkies migrating to BF2142, because the elite noobdemolishing squad of ace pilots bumped them out of a much better game. I gave BF2142 a chance, I gave it 3 chances (beta, demo, some retail). I wasnt interested in playing a half-baked and sluggish infantry game with an option to die in a vehicle which is as much fun to use as watching paint dry and as immersive as reading poetry about agriculture in language you cant read.
Yeah, thats pretty much it. But the difference between the games can really be shown in a practical example. Compare the weight of content of the forums. Not by the topics of "how do I unlock this" or "this is overpowered", but by actual content. People discussing tactics, strategies, discovering something completely new. Writing and editing guides. People actually going to the forums to learn how to do certain things. This pretty much shows the learning curve and depth of the games in question.
Do I miss this place? **** yes I do. I remember TBF2 had some of the greatest debates on how to fix the game, ever. Some really intelligent people used to frequent this joint.Comment
