  • Mod tools may be comming later for bc2/bf3

So I have checked out dice.se job openings page and I found out something interesting.
Dice is looking for Community manager for battlefield games.
And this is in the job description:

    Other responsibilities
    • Monitor and communicate with existing mods / look for possible mods to give ranked server support etc
    Map making competitions
    • Q&A for Clans / Mod-groups / media / PR
    • Maintain community wish list documents for potential future title updates
    • Manage communication and feedback process for public beta tests*

This is very interesting information for me, because Im a modder. It looks like there are good things on the horizon for us.

That's good news, but it will probably be for BF3 more than this game, as there will be more possibilities.

I very much doubt they will allow mods back to the monoply they have created now,not until five years and the game is outdated atleast.People will still make mods but i doubt they will support it anyway:cry:

            I believe it when i see it i guess.cough*43

I was researching more on this, if its not only copy paste from older job opening and its not. The previous community manager position had completely different description. That means there is something comming for us. I dont think its comming for BC2 though. I think it will be out for BF3 and thats pretty much all I need hehe.

Community managers have no real history with helping modding nor will they do.

Wrong. They've been posting on BFeditor.org forums regulalry (unofficial forums) and helped with many things and problems.

Lex did a lot, although he is an exception, Colin did a lot for the community, but other than Lex I would say that most modding support was token, little was ever done to fix problems in the editor or solve big problems for mod teams.
