    Re: Light machine guns.

Hold on, I have a few questions about HMGs.

I was to be a BF2142, BF2 medic and I m too used to the Carbines. Not familiar with how MGs work in BFBC2

the LMG and HMG in BFBC2, does the accuracy increase in continued fire like the Ganz in BF2142? Or does it decrease with continued sustained fire?

Should I fire in bursts in short intervals or hold the mouse down for longer intervals like in BF2142?

I find that burst works well. All out in cqb situations.

Lol knife works better in cqb.

Also the iron sight is difficult for me to track (follow the target as it runs horizontally). Maybe I am too used to the BF2142 Digital Iron Sight lol. Basically a transparent screen with a red circle.

The Muzzle flash blinds me, maybe i should turn down visuals.

Can we add the overheating element to them? Maybe fire for 10 seconds and it needs 3 seconds to cool?

The stationary HMG, newbies kept spraying them, literally pinning my entire squad down until a squad sniper took it out.

Same thing goes with the tank.
          No thanks.

With all the snipers and fireandforget AT monkeys running around stationary machine guns really dont need to be crippled with overheating. Neither does the tank, which has woefully bad anti-infantry capability with just its main gun.

          Just flank it or something.

No, accuracy decreases, however it is less for the LMGs than for any other weapon.

I always use short bursts for any weapon, but for LMGs I find it works fine to use slightly longer bursts than with a rifle.

I dont think there is a problem with accuracy. The way I see it, the LMG fits in between snipers and assault rifles.
It may have the range of the snipers, but it lack the optics and oneshot-kill. Not to mention the difference between a Ghillie suit and a bright red cap
If anything they need a much bigger movement penalty, to make them less suited for running and gunning. The model from BF2142 where sustained fire increased accuracy would have been ideal, but I dont expect us to see that kind of change now.

They are not overpowered and don't count on Dice changing or nerfing them. The LMG's are supposed to be powerful...and accuracy goes down with sustained fire. Depending on how good a person is at a particular weapon, you can say every weapon is overpowered.

Now i will say the one thing that they might nerf would be the m60 and that would be the only lmg i think that they need to nerf. But still it is a toss up. I don't even play m60 either

Well that sucks, i hope they fix it soon as at the moment it is impossible to see anything and my rig can only run at DX9 due to windows XP (not to mention getting 70fps is better than 40)

LMG's could stand to lose a bit of accuracy I think, perhaps allow the gun to overheat (that mechanic is still in the game right? I could've sworn it still happens to the mounted guns on tanks) as well.

A bit off topic, but is it just me or does the MG36 have a really.. really terrible sight? I mean, it's great, but at the same time I don't really want my vision to be that obscured.

                        Re: Light machine guns.

                        Right here it is

I am an assault whore, I readily admit it, although I am not a complete noob tube tard (platinum on my m16, gold rank 6 on my GL as well as gold on the aug, m416) and I have to say that after a few more games last night the medic can pull off some pretty ball**** stuff

fighting on Isla Inocentes the attacking side had a squad of 2 medics and some assaults, these medics whored M60s, PKMs etc and literally were unstoppable, I could shoot as many as I wanted, noob tube them, but they would be ressed (with that annoying ****ing res invincibility or w/e it is) they would then simply get up hold fire and kill anyone and anything that tried to stop them, this literally continued as they held fire and ressed across the island to the MCOM

I decided to play a bit of medic as well later on that day (after recovering from the rage) and was on the same map attacking.

And all I had to do with that PKM was literally hold fire, close range I simply held fire and pointed the gun and people would die, I could run around and hold fire from the hip and people would die, I literally just had to point the gun in any ****ing direction on full auto and people would die even the resident noob tuber on their team started chat abusing me

then after hearing over TS than some of their guys were on the hill overlook our spawn, I turned around from my attack spotted a sniper all away across the bay and did a long burst on ironsights, boom ****ing headshot, I was quite amazed, coupled with the fact that I could run around simply ressing everyone then M1ing every enemy I came across

I came to the conclusion that medic is atm quite full of ****, thankfully not a lot of people realise it, I don't think its localised to just his weapon either

                        - LMGs need some sort of tweak, I don't care if its unrealistic etc (the r word) but on full auto he shouldn't be able to do **** unless he is literally breathing down the enemy's neck, it needs some sort of skill requirement, like the need to burst fire etc or at least control recoil

                        - Reviving - Reviving should either not revive the guy to full health, perhaps 50% etc or remove the weird aura the revived guy gets, right now I fire M16 rounds into guys that are being revived, even nades, tubes etc and they do not ****ing die, they just get up and fire back like nothing has happened, I don't know if its hitboxes or w/e but that needs to change imo

I know some people will like the medic but I played on after that round with the PKM and literally even on Valpairoso I simply held fire and people would die, I dread to think of what I will be able to do with an M60

Well, I just relized I think we have a thread on every class except engineer on how something about them is overpowerd and they need to be changed in some way.

Poor engineers. They have nothing

I dont see why everyone says the M60 is brilliant, I find the MG36 tons better, not only is it easier to handle (imo) you also get the red dot sight as standard, Which means you can use that spec slot for either the 4Xscope which is just a magnified red dot or, improved kit radius.

Engis are fine though, anti vehicle, decent enough gun to defend themselves but not powerful and meant to be mobile, you can whore the Carl Gustav but really you have to use up modification slots to make it more deadly and then you lost out on other benefits

Recon is just recon, the class is fine, its just the *******es playing it

Assault, some would say noob tube, personally never had a problem with it

but medic...god dam, I didn't have a problem with anything in the game until I experienced that crap

No, recon needs to be messed with first. They have that C4 and sniper rifle combo. They have two weapons to worry about whereas the medics just have an LMG.

Though they can revive the recons that have the overpowered c4, which that could be a problem. Maybe medics should be adjusted first. The assault only have the unlimited toob and they never give ammo to anyone, so we dont have to worry about extra C4.

So DICE should adjust the medics, then recon, finally assault, and leave the engis alone or give them something overpowerd as well.
