annoying MX518 sensitivity issue

I searched the forums but I haven't seen anyone mention the problem I'm having. I got an MX518 mouse for Christmas, and it's worked pretty good besides my issue with Mass Effect 2 that I corrected by editing the config files. I haven't played Battlefield 2 for months and just checked it out this afternoon. The mouse seems to work fine except for in game when the mouse pointer needs to be used, like the commander menu, kit selection, squad list, etc. The mouse pointer moves way too fast and it's too sensitive. Normal aiming seems fine from what I can tell. And the actual menu cursor seems fine. Messing with the in-game sensitivity doesn't make it less sensitive, and changing the mouse settings doesn't help either.

Anyone else having this problem and any idea how to fix it?

that is pretty odd. I've used 2 different mx518's in bf2 and not seen that.

you could try resetting the controls to default and see if that fixes it.

what about tapping the buttons above and below the scroll on the mouse?
