I love the game! Rush is really entertaining and faced paced. Squad Deathmatch is really fun. Hardcore is a nice twist to all game modes. Maps are fun. I like the unlocks and such. There are a few things I would like fixed like the server browser. Needs to be more fluid. One big problem at least for me is that Tanks feels clunky. The turning needs to be fixed.

I've only played some pieces of the SP, not really a fan of SP games. Once you get me in a multiplayer match, I stay there for hours :) Pretty addicting

I don't like hardcore mode, games soon devolve into Quake-esque affairs, and snipers and medics overrun everything; tactics go out of the window.

Hardcore should have been just a small increase in damage, and removal of the HUD.

They actually fought into Chile. The scene is beautiful, even though the story line is huge MEH.

I never really realised how much I enjoyed FarCry 2's single player until I played this. I know FC2 gets a LOT of hate (and admittedly a lot of it is deserved), but it's a great sandbox FPS. BC2's SP is so linear they may as well have just made it a quicktime event Dragon's Lair type game. And I know the NPCs in this game were the same that were in the first, but for anyone who has played VietCong and VietCong 2, don't the NPCs just seem almost like direct ripoffs from VC's NPCs? Haggard = Hornster, complete with moustache and penchant for destruction, Sarge = Bronson with just updated graphics, and the nerdy tech guy is a mix of Crocker's visual with Defort's personality. When I first saw the ads for BC1 I thought they were making VC3. :p

Anyway, enough of that tangent. MP is definitely a lot of fun, once you can get into a game that is. It's been a little easier lately than it was on the first few days, but that's not saying much...

Ubisoft's FC2 team spent too much time in Africa getting infected with malaria, then spent too much money on perfecting Dunia engine. Everything in that game worked so well except the lack of fun. The scene is accurate and beautiful. Vegetation and objects are reactive. The environment is largely destructible. However, they ran out of time and money when they start to put the game together. In the end, you get a technological marvel, but really not much fun. The lack of game content is stunning, and once you get Carl Gustav, the noob tube and the noob tube's bigger brother (I would call it super noob tube, but it does require some skill to use. I digress), nothing in your way can stop you.

SP of BFBC2 is, well, meh, but actually not too bad in terms of game play. There is nothing wrong with linear stage design. Let's face it, the hallmark of FPS game is shoot and movement. Any nonlinear game play will require player to travel long distances to either get missions or get it done. We all know how annoying the instant respawning trolls are in FC2, and what will beat it in terms of boringness is no trolls to kill. What will make nonlinear FPS fun will be introducing some RPG elements into it.

The selling point of BFBC2 is destructible environment. Destructible to the degree that never seen before. I think the linear stage is fine in this case, and so is Rush mode. I don't think people buy this game solely for SP. MP is the selling point. Even so, we can still speculate what features and storyline there will be in BC3.

I never liked the Carl G in FC2. It flies way too slowly and even though it's guidable, whatever you're standing on gets set on fire so you'll burn to death by the time the damn thing gets where you need it to go. I definitely use the M79 for my secondary slot because all the vehicles in the game are one hit with it, but the rest of the guns are up in the air as to what I use. Do you mean the AGL for the 'bigger brother'?

What bothered me most about FC2 wasn't the gunplay, but rather the lack of story. Since you just bounce back and forth doing missions for both factions there's really no sense of progression (although maybe that's the point, that no matter which side succeeds, nothing will ever change? Did Ubisoft go all Zen on our asses?). The Jackal tapes were the most interesting part, but I've never been able to get past the 'Stealing Boots' tape due to the bug. I've heard the rest of the tapes online but it's just not the same as finding them in the game. But it's still a lot of fun for some random violence and purty scenery.

I still enjoy FC1 to no end, though, even though they're both totally different games.

totally loving this game. The teamwork is amazing. The whole MP experience is pretty damn good. No complaints from me. Don't really care about the server browser since i really only spend a minute or 2 using it and the rest playing.

The Carl Gustav is a freaking Recoilless Rifle. Of course it burns things behind you. IRL, you can't even fire this thing in doors unless the rear vents into an opening. And you really need to see it fires. The fireball comes out from both ends. Awesome.

By "bigger brother," I mean Type 63 mortar. That thing is murderous in SP if you know how to use it. Just stand away from it, use smoke to find the target and bombard until you run out of ammo. Serves best for destruction missions.

I cant comment on the multiplayer aspect yet cuz i cant even get into a game :/
They really need to fix those connection issues.

Single player was alright. The AI was pretty stupid, Dice could of put more effort into it. Destruction was awesome though. Comments through out battle and just standing around were funny.

Re: What we think so far...truthfully

can be fun, but I dislike the fact there is one helicopter map in which two attack choppers are on, and thats on conquest. I think there should be more maps with the two choppers. I dislike the fact that tanks are now superior to the anti air, so that kind of sucks. Being shot down by an M1A2 Abrams. The bloom in the **** pits are so stupid. The RU side is horrible compared to the US side helicopters, and its even that way in the RU tanks. I can't handle that bloom. I hate the fact that there is no missile count, you get no indication when you're reloaded. I mean come on unlimited missiles, and ammo? That is a bit consolish. We are PC Gamers here folks, and DICE should realize this and stop dumbing our version of BF BC2 down. We deserve better.

The snipers are over played. There are far to many of them. The scoreboard is unfinished, how this wasn't fixed before release is almost scary. You'd think they would have caught such an obvious and easy fix. Random CTD's, the friends list works but every now and then it doesn't. The stats thingy is a little annoying, it takes ages to update stats sometimes. The server browser is broken. In the sense the filters do not work like they should. If you have punkbuster set to on it finds hardly any games, when you turn punkbuster off in the filter, you find a lot of ranked games, and pb is on anyway.

Did I mention this game is consolized? This is a bit insulting DICE. I mean honestly you guys just ruined the BF series because you couldn't leave what worked before alone. I hope you don't do this crap to BF3, because I will not be buying garbage.

Is this game fun? Yeah its fun sometimes, but that your team isn't all playing as sniper, and the other team isn't all playing as sniper. Which is completely over powered. I've been sniped up close in a fire fight with a sniper because he just took a pop shot.
