Crashes at game load no error no nothing.

    Hi everyone,
how nice it is to tinker with a game after it's 30min installation for it to even launch single player campain?
    Not nice.
Anyway i've been playing and uninstalling codecs and applications of maybe related to crash at map load and the assumed movie at single player campain. Nothing seems to work out deleting settings files and letting the game create new ones. nothing same violin music part just seems to be janked at the same spot (10 seconds of the movie).
My system is win xp with sp3 and 8800GTS with E6600 @ 2.99 with 2gb of decent ram mounted on Asus P5W DH deluxe.
I have had win7 RC with tryout trial. But i don't think it would have anything to do with this even though im not 100% sure.
    Anybody anything similiar?

Im not sure if im in the position to post this one. But seems to me it's kind of NOT fun to buy 50€ game and have it not work and not even report what's tickling it.:|:

Have you tried installing the latest drivers for your graphics card?

yes i have tried that few times but once more doesn't seem to hurt. i've also tried omegadrivers.net drivers for the 169.21 didn't help eighter.

Also 1 thing that just poped to my mind. could it be that my register is filled up with all this crap that is installed and uninstalled....
this is getting out of the topic lol too much variables to think of.
.... so could fresh install of xp sp3 help? with all updates and no codecs or anything.......

A fresh install could help since you will get rid of old drivers and other messy stuff.
But it could also be something simple like one of the video files being corrupted.
I think BC2 has a folder called something like "movies" where the intros are stored, have a look at that. As far as I remember you should be able to replace the movies with alternate movies, as long as they have the same name and format.

Try installing on your windows 7 partition - see the results. Might be more stable.
