Is there going to be a public demo?

Wondering if there is going to be a public demo of the game, even though the beta is finished and the game is released? I really don't want to drop $50 on the game without giving it a test run. I wasn't able to get access to the beta.

I've played many hours on BF2 and 2142, but this game seems a lot different and was hoping for a demo. Anyone think a demo will happen?

They should make one. Since performance wise the Beta was a disappointment, and some people really want to see first if their system can run the game with enough FPS, a demo with performance issues fixed would be really nice. Otherwise there's the only way to go via piracy. And we don't want that obviously.

Well if it is any help for you, I run BF2142 1440*900 on high no AA at 60 fps steady, beta with the latest patches ran on steady 24+ everything on low, no bloom.

My specs: E8400 @ 3.0 Ghz 2 GB kingston RAm DDR2@800 Mhz dual channel, Geforce 7950 512 MB at stock clocks.

From what I've seen I should be able to run at steady 30 FPS on BC2; the beta for BC2 was much better than 2142 in both performance and estability, if you have a quad core and better graphics and ram than me you should be able to run this well.

I can tell you this, I ran the Beta at close to 50 FPS at absolute minimum and 800x600 reso with this setup.

T5600 C2D 1.86GHz
1GB of RAM
ATi X1600

This barely meets minimum requirements, and I mean its below min. req.

You can tinker with additional settings in the "settings" ini file in "My Documents" "BFBC2" folder. Theres a couple of things you can adjust which arent available in the graphical interface. For example the 800x600 resolution.

DICE outdid themselves. The engine is scalable and runs well. I had a few issues with the Beta with the screen freezing while it loaded, but there was a fix for it. Of course every computer is different.

ok, with retail patch i can run 1440*900, everything on high, 1x AA (you can't turn it off) 1x anisotropic, no HBAO, Vsync off steady 30 fps on multiplayer maps. Single player looks a bit more demanding.

The beta would run at 35 frames and dip down to 28 in high action for me. Is there a big difference between the beta/retail performance wise?

Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 at 3.4Ghz --- Didn't get to test the game with the 3.4, just overclocked.
2 X Radeon Mobility 4870
4GB ram.

I dunno. i heard there would be a demo and i thought there should be one too. but after what happened with bf2142 were many people stayed playing the demo instead of buying the game .. xD
