I understand their sarcasm. Indeed, you are right, the majority of players don't like good pilots, they'd much prefer going against a noob pilot who cannot fully utilize such an asset as the apache. It wasn't that hard to kill pilots in 2142, it won't be that hard once the wire guided missile is released.

I'm glad tbh, I did dabble in soloing in BF2 but didn't bother with it in the end, had a good copilot most of the time

soloed a lot in 2142 because a lot of people thought the gunship was a deathtrap, which in all fairness it was sometimes, but if used properly was devastating

I'm glad they got rid of this for BC2, because quite simply it was far too powerful in BF2 and really removed from the gameplay; I'd trade having a ******* in the copilot seat to getting instantly incinerated from miles away from a usually untouchable foe

It is a bit sad that all these measures have to be put into place to stop something like this. I know airpower is suppose to be the end all of a battle, but this is a game and there is nothing fun when you have AA that can't hit a hovering target. Helis do get shot down with small arms fire now and again.

But anyway, it was all fun if not frustrating at times.

Good point about team work. Nothing frustrated me more than running towards a chopper and watching it fly away. Maybe this will stop some of that. And nothing against good pilots either. I just want a wep that can bring it down IF I have the skill necessary to use the wep properly. This game is still about balance and team work. Right where it should be.

I never said it was difficult to kill chopper whores. It isn't. It's just amazingly annoying. Do you realize that no one in the game likes people like you who every single respawn run straight for the chopper and wait for it to respawn? Last time I checked the game isn't called "Battlefield: Chopper Whoring" now is it? I'm fairly certain about how the games are laid out: you have two teams of infantry who fight each other with the assistance of vehicles. It's not one team versus a chopper. You're not some sort of Rambo guy taking on the whole other team.

No one thinks you're "1337' or wants to stroke your throbbing e-pen0r because you're a chopper whore. We think it's annoying.

They made it to easy to snipe people out the chopper as well. but with mg you can damage it but not shoot anyone out. As well as You can shoot someone out with a pistol. Very odd inbalance.

I too noticed teamwork seemed to be even more important in BC2. It's nice to be driving your tank and having infantry support running next to your tank for a change It's also really nice to have the occasional engy running behind you and impact-wrenching you as you go :yay:

It reminds me that I once found a PAC gunship parked on the ground behind my EU tank. Possibly changing the seat in order to rear me with a TV missile at zero range. Needless to say, guess who bites the dust. :)

Didn't you get the memo? This is now the "Combat Aircrew" series of games from EA.

You're a huge tool. I don't camp the spawn, in fact I rarely fly, but when I do I'd prefer not to rely on some stupid pubber (e.g. you) to get me points and be the most important asset on our team.

I don't care what people think about me, I just find it annoying that DICE sided with the noobs on this one when seat switching is a very valid tactic and has been used by good pilots for a very long time.

Here is how you fix this problem.

Get friends to gun for you.

                        omg I am a genius.

The secondary fire specialization unlock for the gunner is the tracer dart. No TVGM's in this game.

and you can still seat switch, but you just need to be PDQ about it. Unless I missed the stupid tweet about this being changed since the beta.

Especially when you're being tracked down by missiles, F2 > byebye missiles. This is one of the retarded game mechanics in bf2/2142 I'm glad to see go away. Either you fly or you're gunner regardless of if you would be better of soloing. Just wish there was automatic voip channel inside vehicles or something so you could yell orders at those pubbies. ^^

I found that if my gunner was no good (and you can tell, when you hover for 5 seconds behind the enemy spawn, and spot tank/infantry, and guy won't shoot them) that making a very low pass over the enemies is enough to make them bail and wait for a squadmate to spawn on you in the chopper.

                                Apparently, DICE doesn't think so.
