serious lag problems

So i havent played BF2 for about 1.5 year, and it was removed from my comp beacuse of new windows.
So i installed my game again
Checked for new patches, i downloaded v1.41 and after installed 1.41 i downloaded v1.5
So there shouldnt be any problems
But when i play on multiplayer/online i have huge lagging all the time so if i try to aim and shoot, my aim bounces all the time and cant kill anyone, neither on short distances or long distances.
Game worked very well over year ago and now my comp is even better, so what is the problem?

Manually updated Punkbuster? Did you also increase the sleep time to 500? Have you tried not running any antivirus/spyware software?

Mmm... I have done anything to punkbuster, so dont know about that.
And what you mean about that Sleep time to 500? =)
And i have to try run antivirus trough that when back at home.

You should manually update punkbsuter to be sure you have the latest version. You can go to punkbuster.com to get the pbsetup program that will do it. It also gives instructions on using it, but its pretty easy.

In the console of the game you type in "pb_sleep 500" and what that does is change how often punkbuster client on your machine checks for updates. You also want to use "pb_writecfg" I think. Someone may have to correct me on those commands as I have not used them in a long time.

Once you enter a server, tap the "~" key (left of the 1 key) to open the console.

Erm... On 1.41 it didnt lag at all and ping was normal.
Now i try that 1.5 ping bounces from 30 to 300 and i keep lagging.
Any help again please :)

If you did these changes and then applied the final patch, you will need to do it again.

I did that manual update before i did final patch and played for while at 1.41. then i did that final patch and went playing, it lagged so i did manual update again it said No new updates needed. All versions are up to date.

Im not sure on this one. It worked, installed the final patch, didnt work, that makes me think its the patch. Are all your drivers up to date and what version of windows are you running?

I have windows XP and now i loaded new drivers from Nvidia, still my ping keeps bouncin from 50 to 170

So my patch 1.5 is lagging. i loaded new one and it lags too
