I can understand why a beta would end before the game is released. What I don't get is the demo ending. It would make more sense to transition into an improved demo on the PC, with the retail optimizations and tweaks..

Hell, people can still try BF2 via the demo. It gives people an opportunity to try a small part of the game in order to make a decision on buying it.

Maybe they need to purge the servers of sin?
Or in other words, get rid of the Beta/Demo software and install and test the latest server release.

i dont think there will be many changes from the beta to the final release.. they just havnt had time... we will have to wait for the first patch.. the game has probably already been cut a while back.

The game went gold just a few days ago and there were a lot of changes made from the beta as well as from the client we received the other day. It will probably be very different.

my mistake..i hope it will be alot difference, but from the beta being released to the final being released is very short time in game production terms and DICE dont have a good track record for getting things right first time around. I still think you can expect a patch in the first week or so.
