oh i do like bullet drop though because its real! no prone is not real(just had to mention prone in every thread lol)

    I actually think 1943 will be a better game?guess i will wait for BF3
Faster does tend to mean more skill, less time to make these "tactical" (what the cool kids are calling normal FPS strategy) decisions, less time to aim, less time to react, etc. Running around spraying isn't effective at all in BC2. No flanking yet there are constantly people blowing up bombsites from what seems like behind... 1943 doesn't have prone, if you want to find out how it is, just go play it?

Do you put any thought into your posts at all?

Yeah, Saiga is definitely the gun du jour. Gets old when everyone starts using the same weapon. Hopefully the weapons are better balanced in the full game.

What more do you people want jeez
Fast paced can mean more skill involved but not in this game. This is just people for the most part getting simple kills. Gone are those pc days where it takes a lot of skill and eye hand coordination. Now everything is optimized for a controller which is much harder to aim with and then ported to pc and put in an environment where you can get a lot kills from shooting people in the back. What they have labeled as "recoil" is really a way to send bullets in a cone so that you don't actually have to target people in precise spots like the head.

Problem is most people who play really aren't that good so they are going to like these games. They don't mind getting killed often because they are also getting kills often. I let my sister play and she went 10-10 I let her play bf2 and she went like 0-35..

and bf2 isn't even one of the really hardcore intense pc games like we use to have. Anyone ever played the original rogue spear. If you weren't super fast and super accurate knew how to control your recoil then you were dead.

There are plenty of videos out there, and congrats on being one of the very few gamers who don't own an xbox or something.

But if you were shot in the back you were flanked = outskilled?

I really don't agree with what you're saying, there is a very present recoil, sure there's a cone of fire as well but that has been in every single PC battlefield game. How doesn't the game promote skill and hand eye coordination? No one has presented any real arguments why! Guns are accurate, there is a fair bit of recoil, bursting > full auto... I could go on and on.

I am a BF2/2142 vet in case you wonder. :)

She was most likely put up against people who have played BF2 non-stop for the last 5 years. If you let her play BF2 againt the same bunch of clueless randoms that are trying the beta now, you will get a very different result.

And I will like to bring out the old-non-game-specific argument against certain games requiring no skill:
If a player is able to consistently do better than the others in a game, then he is skilled at that game. And by definition that game must then require skill.

i also disagree with that... the gunner in the chopper racking up the 70-80 kills relies on the pilots skill, the engineer racking up the repair points relies on the tank drivers lack of skill to get his points and so on.. these acts can easiliy put you at the top of the scoreboard every round with very little skill. The leaderboard is also misguided, it is govened by how long you have played it.. not skill, the longer you have played the more up the leaderboard you are..

That is because this game is about teamwork, not individual k/d. To have skill in BF is to further the cause of your team.
Tell me this: Who has most skill in a game of chess. He who takes 8 pawns but loses his king, or he who trades 8 pawns for a checkmate?
If you go by K/D ratio alone the answer would be obvious, but it is a bit more complicated than that. :p

Leaderboard = Worthless, no disagreement here.

so what is skill in bfbc2? an accumilation of low skillfull acts. therefore in cod you need more skill than bfbc2

Dude, this isn't a philosophical discussion on FPS skills...

"What really constitutes you're skills, are skills even real?"

Game is definitely harder than CoD due to the nature of the weapons, the size of the maps, the destruction, and just sheer amount of information you have to take in. Might I need to show you this video?

Are you familiar with the no true scotsman fallacy?
I can see a similar pattern here:

CatFood: You dont need skill in BC2!
SomeoneElse: Then how come Chuck Norris alway is in the top 3 in any game he plays?
CatFood: Well, thats not real skill he is using!

                                No offence intended
