Has the Beta/Demos helped you decide to get BC2?

With the betas and demos for all the platforms being released, has it helped you decide on getting the game or not? Did it help you decide on the platform, if you played all the different ones or at least two of them?

I think most of us have a pretty good idea of how it is going to play, even if we've only had one map and one game mode with a handful of unlocks.

Now that I know I can run it ok. I was already sure that I wanted it. I wasn't sure how my dual core and my hd4670 would do, but it runs the beta pretty well.

Well, since I already bought it to get the beta, I guess that throws me in the "buying it" category. That being said, not that impressed with the beta. Choppy gameplay, nerfed weapons that take an entire clip to kill someone. Hope the final product is a much improved version.

You could have gone with the fence option.

I think the game will be a lot improved in the areas you mentioned. I dont know about the bullet strength though. Have to see and it can always change.

Any way this game comes out, I'll be getting it. Much fun has been had during the beta with buddies.

I will buy it. I play the beta and its a lot of fun. Only gripe I have so far are very minor bugs which I believe will be fixed with the final games release as well as the performance on my PC which is on lowest details @ around 40 fps and 15 once the action started. Which I honestly hope they work on.

I think the game is great and I can't wait to play the other maps and start earning the other weapons. The beta just solidified for me that the game is definitely worth buying. I love the sounds and the hectic nature of the battle, much more atmospheric than the other same-genre FPS games. There is also a lot more teamwork than in the typical TDM games out there.

Re: Has the Beta/Demos helped you decide to get BC2?

A few game play issues aside, No prone, and no toggle crouch, and not being able to set way points anywhere. Outside of that, I think the game is vastly superior to BF2. Perhaps it's just getting lucky with good servers close by, or my 5850 helping me get both the settings and frame rate to really make this game shine. To me it's call of duty meets BF2, which is what I wanted for a long time.

The air vehicle combat looks like it may have taken a step back in terms of being able to control the aircraft, though we will have to see if things get better once proper joystick support is out for PC. However the ground vehicle combat is so much more intense. holes in the ground, being able to destroy cover of AT infantry, both make the game harder and better for armour. I can't wait for a conquest map in a urban environment with tanks and APCs, a bunch of infantry, roof top and ground combat, with a little air support to really get things cooking. I just hope 32 players will still feel chaotic on conquest, not too big and empty for this player count, and not too small to make it like rush where it's closer to a very grid lock front line grind. Which I still love, but only because the destruction makes it interesting, I've never liked the front lines mode as much, but with this engine it makes it a little more interesting for me.

infantry has taken a step back with the lack of prone, however, again it's off set more by much much better ballistics. I do see some people raising concerns, however my experience has been thats its very close to a call of duty, going assault makes it feel like rainbow six almost. And the destruction makes it a million times more tense, before you could hide in buildings and wait out tanks. This is unrealistic, plain and simple. Much like snipers, AT infantry, and infantry in general, how have to use cover like a sniper, shoot and move, cover isn't cover forever.

I can understand not being 100% sold on the game it self, but you must admit the engine shows us the promise of destruction truly shines in the battlefield games. Red faction, and crysis had perhaps better technical implementations of this feature, but the game play benefits weren't exploited as much, and taxed systems too much for the time.

especially having played Company of heroes for so long now. And seeing the destruction of a World in conflict game. Proper world destruction make me wonder how would a 64 player BF3 look like, How about 128 player 1944? How about things like fire and water as elements on the battlefield.

Our old games now seem almost like a nerf world in comparison, you could camp, heck have a picnic, the walls and cover aren't coming down.

I wasn't sure if I was going to get it or not but the beta convinced me it's worth my $50. It's good now but since it's a beta and people have started to learn all the quirky exploits and there are no admins to be able to kick them from servers it can be a chore to play sometimes. Once it goes live and we have some good servers like TTP (hopefully) go up to get rid of the asshats, worthless ridge monkey snipers, and griefers as well as being able to play the more balanced (also hopefully) build where guns are decent and people don't need to rely on the noobtoob for CQC kills it'll be even better. Tonight I just got that insignia that tells me I've been playing for over a day so I think I better uninstall this and wait for the retail version. :p

One thing i love in this game is sniping! In BF2 it was hard to be a good attacking sniper whereas in BC2 i have had situations where i have been in the enemy base pulling off amazing shots and exploding objectives.

if it takes a full mag to kill someone in retail im throwing the game in the trash.Kinda pissed that we dont get a demo.
