Activision is lowering expectations for the next game, meaning COD 7

While laying out Activision's lineup for the second half of 2010, executives re-confirmed a number of high-profile projects. As revealed last May and re-confirmed in November, a new Call of Duty game will be released in the series' usual holiday season berth. The Treyarch-developed game is rumored to be set during the Cold War era, possibly in Vietnam. Given the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's billion-dollar-and-counting in sales, Activision is lowering expectations for the next game, with CFO Thomas Tippl saying, "we've not planned on repeating the same level of success as we enjoyed in 2009."

Sounds like to me if the game isn't made by the same guys who made MW1 and 2 then it is a failure.

Treyarch will be going against a lot of upcoming games as well though. MW2 didnt have much to go against. There is also the treyarch hate that is hard for them to overcome.

But I do believe that if Treyarch has dedicated servers for their next game then it will win over many happy gamers. If that happens then maybe the hatred role will be reversed. Treyarch loved and MW2 hated.

I personally have loved Treyarch since WaW as for me it was a solid well balanced game that was more enjoyable in some cases than CoD4. I think Treyarch is the way forward for the CoD franchise.

It's sad to see what consoles have done to the gaming world. While I did absolutely despise Treyarch for their work on Call of Duty 3, and while I was not a huge fan of World at War, I greatly appreciated the support, and ultimately respect, that they gave gamers.

            Second.

WaW was the most balanced out of the 3 latest CoD games. MW2 second and CoD4 last on the balanced weapons.
