it's based on state sales tax since there is a Barnes and noble in pretty much every state and we all have different sales tax amounts.
I don't think this is so. It has been 24 hours now and I have not received anything other than my confirmation of my order. If this does indeed happen I will post at that time.

There were a a couple of guys over at the planet battlefield forum that posted up the email they got back from B&N regarding their order getting canceled and it included a ISBN number....... 2000003703258.......ISBN numbers are not used for games, they are used for strategy guides.

Also the UPC code listed on the B&N page was a dummy code, it was not for BFBC2. Lets hope they cancel all the orders or allot of people may have just overpaid by $10 for a strategy guide.........B&N has done this same thing just a couple months ago, they had a Street Fighter TE stick preorder that was a mistake and half off and they did not honor any of the sales, they also did this exact same thing with the bioshock 2 limited edition for the PS3, it was advertised at $29 instead of $59 and they did not honor the price.....they couldn't afford to honor this sale, they would loose $20 on every game and no way will gamestop honor B&N price error. Also $24 is the amount needed to reserve your walkin preorder at gamestop.........I bet they do send everyone a $1 ecard though so all in all you'll make out.

The timing of this slip up and the subpoena sent out by the NY governor for B&N and gamestop is just a too much of a coincidence...

New York State's Attorney General, Andrew Cuomo, has subpoenaed a number of online retailers, including GameStop, Barnes & Noble, Ticketmaster and Staples, over the way they pass information to marketing firms while processing transactions. MSNBC explains the scenario thus: "You're on the site o...

If it does end up going through for anyone it will be California residents, they have some very strict laws regarding advertised pricing errors. I know I'll be taking my print out of that page into gamestop when i pick mine up demanding the $20 price if they do honor any of these sales.

Well the ISBN for the strategy guide is 9780307467386. The ISBN you listed above is as you say, a dummy UPC code (not ISBN).

Don't get me wrong, I fully expect my order to be canceled, but there's no way they'd send the strategy guide in its stead. The guide is called the Prima Essential Guide, so it's not exactly easy to mistake.

Strategy guides are listed under Books, not PC & Video Games, but feel free to continue laughing.

They definitely won't send a guide, but it's almost a guarantee they'll cancel the orders before they ship.

                          It's just jealousy. lol

The description/name/category on the website & in e-mails in no way describes the BC2 strategy guide so I think yall can get over that one.

Regardless, a refund is probably going to end up happening. I don't see how a company like B&N can miss some orders and pass them through for shipping.

Yes, they should. It is the same as if you went to the store, picked it up off the shelf, scanned it at the checkout and it came up to $19.95, they should honor that even though it is an error it should still be honored. B&N should have to eat this, for lack of a better way to put. There mistake our gain!
