BFBC 2 graphics too good?

Hello again.
I finnaly was able to get a beta key, not by canceling my local preorder and preorder it online but from one of those contests.

I am running the beta on a Laptop and this is my laptop has some of you might already know from a previous post:
Asus n51vf:
4gb ram
intel core duo T9550 2.66ghz
NVIDIA Geforce GT 130M
WIndows vista 32 Home premium

For a laptop its a quite good one, i can run GTAIV on max with 30fps, Modernwarfail 2 on max with 40/50fps, all UT3 engine games on max with a very good fps, and crysis/fallout3 on Max too. Extra high or Super high or smth, i dont really remember, i just know that when i tried it it was in the max i could select and i had no problem with fps neither.
But BFBC2, (of course i already knew from bf2 that when a new bf game comes out it will be a heavy game) its really heavy, never seen smth like this, i was able to run every new game i tryed on max, and with fluent fps, but i think i never had to set a game to a medium setting and this one even lags in my pc at low settings.
I have everything on low, just detail on medium because i hate to see the snipers and trees details fading in and fading out everytime i approach 1 meter from them.
And i even get some lag at low, just not to mention that i lag like hell if there are many explosions around me and if i am in middle of a lot of smoke.
Ah thats another thing, i remember to hear some joke in this forum that was like "if there was so mutch bloom going around, the population would all have really serious breathing cancer" just dont remember who sayd that, but i have to agree.

I love the game its awsome and i already knew i would love it, (of course ill love bf3 even more because thats what ive been expecting)
But from what i see, the graphics arent thaaaaat good kmon!?!? Couldnt they optimize them a little? I seriously hope they optimize graphics for the official release, cause i am running a nice laptop and i have to run the game on low so i dont even want to imagine people that have worse pc's than me, and this pc was bought this year for 1200euros so i am obviously not buying another one.
So, is it just because it is a beta? and my graphic card is maybe not supported or something!?!? or is it really graphics that arent optimized and it requires a space ship to run the game?? Please answer and sorry for my bad english xD.

(Please dont take me wrong, i love this game, my doubt is that, if game is not optimized and many other people will have the same problem has me, and if its just my graphic card that is not beeing supported because it is a beta or smth?)

Well... there is a LOT of destruction going on at all times so I guess that takes a lot of power since your client has to process all that. Effects and shadow quality seem to be CPU dependant also, whereas LoD and HBAO strain your GPU.

There are a number of reasons the FPS is low and the lag is a bit high:

1. Its a beta and not optomized for PC.
2. Sound is ran a lot from the main CPU, taking away some processing power.
3.The server browser is not working correctly in relation to ping/latency. You may be going on a higher ping server and not even know.
4. Its been reported that smoke causes a lot of lag. It caused a lot of lag in BF2 and 2142 as well. I guess its tradition.
5. Like L-iNC said, there is more going on than graphics. Every time someone kills a tree you're client has to know about it. Same with all the other effects.
6. You may have a driver on your laptop not updated for BC2, which is probably true for all of us.

There is suppose to be a demo released for PC sometime in the future. If this happens before the game gets released then you might try it and see how it runs then.

Try downloading the newest Nividia drivers, and by newest I mean the beta driver. It improves FPS significantly.

Also remember that vista is very badly optimized for...well everything. Upgrading to W7 should help a littlebit.

Out of curiosity, what does your system score in 3DMark Vantage?
My score around 12000 allows me to run the game at 1680x1050 with most settings high and FPS usually above 50

If your system is equvalent then it is problay the beta that is unoptimized for your system.
But besides the quality of graphics, you also need to remember that this game has huge maps with many players and destructible environment. That ups system requirements when compared to an ordinary game with similar graphic

This is from the official forums.

Tweaking – you can tweak a lot of individual settings yourself from the settings.ini file in your BC2beta folder found under your C:\Users\"You"\Documents\BFBC2Betafolder. Set things like the audio to high quality, increasing water detail, DirectX version to use, etc.
Manually changing from “DxVersion=auto” to “DxVersion=9” in your "settings.ini" file may dramatically improve frame rate for some users.

Update drivers, and in settings, change ur sound to Headphones. You may need to do that everytime.

Arica harbor looked much better then this map. I've said it before, I think snow maps always look like crap in any game. I think its a cop out for developers to put snow maps in a game because they can make them fast and slppy and no one can complain because they are used to it.
