    Is BFBC2 sound too good??

Like the title asks? Can a games sound be too good???

I find myself feeling as if I came out of a real freaking war after a few solid rounds. Am I the only one that has to sometime retreat from the cover of a tank because the turret blasts are so freaking loud?

I've never experienced anything like this before!!! *note to self....make appointment in the morning to see a doctor for possible hearing loss* :salute:

Even tough I am certain real war has even worse profanity, that's th eonly thing breaking my break from reality.

I don't find the cursing soldiers amusing in the least; they swear too much.

out side of that, dammit; I sometimes crouch under my keyboard when a shell strikes too near.

The Bradley sounds the best, and you can hear it decently far away. But yes, it's surprising that in a game, with crysis level graphics, and more in some areas, that the sound too would be a whole new level of immersion.

Playing with a Creative X-fi platinum through a sennheiser PC 350 head set, and on a lucky day on the logitech Z-5500. Going deaf has never been such fun.

The sound in the first one was epic and this one does not disappoint either. The sound is fantastic. I love the rumblings of **** going on miles away.

It's one of the few things that has improved over BF2. For the rest it feels like a console shooter, e.g. crap.

although the sounds of the vehicles are great and the explosions are awesome, I think they fail on an infantry level hearing other infantry.
In COD4 I can tell if an enemy is on wooden floor, in the grass, crossing a river or climbing over metal, each sound is distinct and easily identifiable. In BC2 heavy booted soldiers can run though a wooden floored building and nobody knows they are there until they are seen. You should be able to hear that someone is in the same room with you.

I understand that there are a lot of other things going on but I find the lack of sound directly near my player very weak, unless it's a mortar strike on my head.
